In his statement on the appointment of Peter Mandelson as UK Ambassador to the USA - the top British diplomatic posting - despite failing security vetting, Kier Starmer apologised not only to Parliament, but also to victims of serial paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, with whom Mandelson had close ties.
The aura of pantomime was enhanced by Stephen Flynn, SNP MP for Aberdeen South, when he accused Starmer of, “ignoring Epstein’s victims” and asked if he was “gullible, incompetent, or both.”
Somebody should have reminded Flynn that successive SNP First Ministers - Humza Yousaf and John Swinney - ignored the victims and families of Celtic Boys Club, when they refused to set up an independent inquiry into the biggest paedophile ring in world sport.
