It was so fun to see so many #langchat friends last night in Philadelphia for #ACTFL24. Visit me on Bluesky for photos. The consensus of the crowd who gathered irl was to have our next Thursday night chat on that app. I hope all my old friends from Twxtter will join us there.
Hey #langchat friends, if you’re going to #actfl24, let’s meet up!
Friday, Nov 22, 5:30-6:30pm
Philadelphia Marriot Hotel, Circ Bar
Hope to see you there! 😊

Wow, I just read my #ACTFL24 program. There’s so much still going on at 5:30 Friday - amazing sessions and affinity groups! If you’d like to meet up but you’re not free till 6:30, lmk. We don’t have to put a hard stop on our meetup if we know more friends are coming. #langchat

On November 9, 2016, I was teaching at an elementary school with a high percentage of immigrants, mostly legal refugees from Iraq. Many of the children were crying. One asked, “How soon are they going to deport us?”

When my L is also my W:
Today 5 minutes into the speaking quiz, I could tell my rubric was junk. Kids that I thought “hmm, D” were scoring a B.
The win: I did NOT spend my whole lunch rewriting the rubric and running copies. I just gave everyone Bs and ate my lunch in peace.

#langchat My TA is that lots of you are using AI, and if I explore a little more, I may find something valuable for me, too. I made a list of tools you mentioned: @mizouai, Gemini, #Canva, @quizizz @edpuzzle and @MSFTCopilot,@curipodofficial, @GetSchoolAI, & @suno_ai_
Take aways: What is something "spooktacular" with AI you will try after this chat? Share what you did, and even feel free to follow up with how it went! Please include TA and #langchat in your response!
