The Alpenglow feature gate activates on testnet tomorrow.
Feature gate flips at epoch 1042, ~17:30 UTC Thursday Sept 24, starting a 5,000 slot countdown. ~17 minutes later, Alpenglow takes over.
We'll post when countdown starts and when Alpenglow is officially running. ⏱️

This also marks the end of an era. Once Alpenglow is activated on Testnet, operators will no longer be able to run Frankendancer on Testnet. Kudos to @jump_firedancer for the milestone. Frankendancer has had a big impact on the ecosystem 🔥

Testnet exercises the exact migration devnet and mainnet-beta will run.
The Alpenglow community cluster rehearsed the migration numerous times and has been running Alpenglow for over 4 months.
Now Alpenglow moves to the formal activation path.

Some validators still treat operating a validator as if they spend more than 2 hours per day on a schools playground.
Time to mature.
This is the Kalshi email for new users titled "Keep Markets Fair." Solana validators should pay attention to these points. 1) All inbound TXs are non-public; 2) you can influence the ordering & the outcome of the TX; and 3) you own the validator involved in determining the outcome. AI tools can monitor your activity. Talk to a qualified lawyer and follow their recommendations.

I happen to know an RPC provider that licenses DoubleZero's data and offers a pretty awesome Solana shred service. They also offer the fastest gRPC & Preconf services. If you are trading on Solana, you need @triton_one! We don't fuck with your order flow, either.
Also, if you're using an RPC that got a lot slower in the last 72 hours, please reach out to us. If you don't want raw shreds, we'd love to match you with an RPC provider that is licensing DoubleZero's data and paying Solana validators

I hate my competitors so much. I will respect them and treat them well. But I really despise them.
Everyone has always told me to celebrate a competitor’s success. I just don’t get it. I want them to fail so badly and for me to succeed so badly.
Every time I see a competitor’s success, I go to sleep an hour later and wake up an hour earlier. I don’t get how some very successful people handle it differently.

DeFi Dev Corp is once again lagging slots. They stopped briefly for ~1 epoch, then resumed under a new, unnamed identity and with 400k SOL more in stake.
You are not shaming them enough.
This data also shows that the massive slot lagger, DeFi Dev Corp, is operated by Temporal themselves. They used the same box to failover multiple validators in their fleet, including DFDV.
