Broachus maxiumus broachachos! Got a bit of broaching to do as our broacher flaked on us. I made some DIY quick change holders so the operators can slap and go. I wanted to make solid shanks, avoiding collet holders but we do not have any suitable 1” stock on hand or the time. 😭

I figured it was another pump shaft seal but I got lucky. It was an unhappy oring on the high pressure output solenoid. 🥳 Now back to my regularly scheduled program..

🙄 Welp, looks like something got added to my list this morning. Can I get a refund in my weekend? It wasn’t long enough. 😂

Swiss lathe tip of the day: If you have an automatic bar feeder and it has a feature that tells you that it didn't extract the remnant, always make 100% sure that it isn't still hiding in the spindle or guide assembly. 🤣 Ask our somewhat new resident, Captain Crash the III from the Green Button Pushers local 67 union what happens when you ignore and reset the remnant alarm on the HMI, then try to run a new bar with the old bar end still inside the telescoping guide tube. A 5 min fix turned into a 2 hour ordeal with me getting covered in acetal bushing goo. 😭 This is generally not a very common issue but ended up being a good opportunity to educate the other unaware operators and how to deal with it properly.

TD-32 guide bushings can have a little carbide lining exposure. 😂 Chips have slowly taken their toll over the years but it still works perfectly fine. 💪

Brand new K&N filter. I got common mold flashing, strings and a dent on the outside pleat clamp. Maybe it was the last one off the line on a Friday afternoon. 🤣 It looks good other than that. This is my first time finding strings embedded in one though. 🙃
