Nepali authorities report severe flooding in Rasuwa and have issued warnings for communities along the Bhote Koshi, Trishuli, and Narayani rivers.
U.S. citizens in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, Chitwan, and Tanahun should stay away from riverbanks and low-lying areas, seek higher ground, and follow local instructions.
U.S. citizens should avoid areas affected by the Rasuwa flooding. Nepali authorities have restricted travel along the Prithvi Highway, the Galchhi–Nuwakot–Rasuwa–Syafrubesi road, and the Mugling–Narayangadh road. Never walk, swim, or drive through floodwater.
Communications remain disrupted in areas affected by the Rasuwa flooding.
If you are safe, contact your family, hotel, guide, and trekking or tour company as soon as possible. Use text, email, or messaging applications when telephone calls do not connect.
The U.S. Embassy is working to account for U.S. citizens who may have been affected by the Rasuwa flooding. If you are in an affected area, email KathmanduACS@state.gov with your full name, current location, status, and tour or trekking company.

Thanks to the extraordinary efforts of Catholic Relief Services and Caritas Nepal, life-saving assistance from the United States continues to reach Nepali families and children in severely affected areas in the Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts. These images are from September 5 in Nuwakot and September 7 in Rasuwa.
The United States is closely coordinating with the Government of Nepal and numerous partners to deliver more than $4 million of assistance that matches Nepal’s needs and helps affected communities.

United States’ planes just landed in Nepal to deliver life-saving supplies for those affected by the disaster. Thanks to @USPACOM and @PACAF, the United States is rapidly responding in times of need.
The United States continues to deliver additional humanitarian and disaster response assistance to Nepal following the devastating August 26 Bhote Koshi floods in Rasuwa.
Today, two U.S. military cargo aircraft delivered 5,000 specialized disaster victim recovery supplies, 500 first aid kits, stretchers, and front-end loaders to support Nepal-led search, rescue, and recovery operations. The assistance responds directly to requests from the Government of Nepal and comes in addition to the $3.6 million in U.S. assistance already announced for the flood response.
This rapid delivery reflects the enduring U.S.-Nepal partnership and our shared commitment to helping affected communities through this disaster.
