The sale of Israel Bonds has finally ended in Europe! This outcome is a testament to the indefatigable campaigners who protested outside the Ireland Central Bank for more than a year, supported by the Parliamentarians who kept pushing for Ireland’s compliance with international law. The Central Bank of Ireland confirmed today that on the expiry of the Israel Bonds’ prospectus, their sale in Europe has ended Since 2021 Ireland has been the ‘home member state’ for Israel Bonds. Due to the public pressure in response to Israel’s genocide against Palestinians in the occupied Gaza Strip, in 2025 the Central Bank of Ireland transferred the prospectus to Luxembourg whose competent financial authority approved it. This prospectus expired on 31 August 2026.  In July, Luxembourg’s financial regulator rejected to approve the prospectus for another year. The decision came after increasing pressure from civil society and legal experts.
