As much fun as it's been poking fun at 343i over the years, with their death sort of comes the end of my interest in continuing to use Twitter. It was always fun and games to me, I hope no-one's truly butthurt because I posted Halo 3's insane numbers too many times. ggwp glhf

Shitty behaviour like that could definitely get him added to 343i's blacklist. However, and I want to point out I'm not excusing it, this was October 2024, Act Man said he was blacklisted in Feb 2017. Obviously, could be for something similar, but that's not proved here.
I mean at HWC 2024 you joked about roofieing my drink right in front of me (and other Halo leadership) and also said if I was lucky I’d get to experience your stroke game later, so like, pretty sure that’s not the only reason LOL

Also, this doesn't address the blacklist claims. While we'd all understand if this type of thing was the reason he was blacklisted, the contention is that 343i are claiming there never was a blacklist.

Regarding the whole notion of 343i / Halo Studios having any fan development feedback groups: It's an embarrassment. They shouldn't need to ask for fan feedback to make Halo. If they didn't know what Halo should be or what people want, wtf were they ever going to achieve? Lol

Devs: Omg what do we do? Shall we make Halo a Hero shooter? ButtLord69: Nah guys, try 4v4 Devs: Oh! Thank you so much for your valuable input, we really needed to hear that and could never have launched such a quality product without you. No hope.

Late Night Gaming has taken down his post and removed his livestream recording of him talking about his time as a Forerunner for Halo Infinite, presumably in light of the realisation he's still tied to an NDA.
As I thought, NDAs are still active. Halo creators have just been assuming they'd be free to talk because 343i / Halo Studios has been gutted. Lol

Glenn Israel has commented on this video about Halo Studios: "If the studio was willing to blacklist job applicants illegally - which I witnessed and documented firsthand - they were almost certainly willing to do the same to content creators without any repercussions."

As I said a few years ago, 343i's NDAs were a success. They took control of creator's voices. For the cheap price of an early look and a dangling carrot of aspiring career prospects etc. A PR move that hindered their pre-launch criticism and handicapped post-launch divulgence.
343i's Forerunner program was a roaring success. Successfully tied up their bigger YouTube critics in NDAs to damper pre-launch criticism + implant bias. Post-launch left them awkward, with guilty consciences, muddling their ability to criticise + encourage them to lose heart.

In the last week or so, the people who have been criticising 343 over the past decade or so have been pretty much validated at this point. Xbox should’ve made this move a long time ago. The mismanagement of this once great series is extremely disheartening.

No-one said "leadership blacklist", why frame it like that? Why not say 'there was no blacklisting of any kind, no-one has ever been refused future opportunities' ? You literally admit "some ppl and partners understandably don't like negative/critical sentiment or coverage".
Replying to @DestinLegarie
there are too many claims and sources flying around of late to start addressing them all (in due time), but this one is annoyingly false. There was no "leadership blacklist." Sure, some ppl and partners understandably don't like negative/critical sentiment or coverage - particularly with things like review copies/early access which are inherently intended to drive (good) awareness. Xperia's video actually directly led to some specific AI improvements at the finish line. Who knows who might have or have not been included "next time", there was no next time even on deck. It's all just speculative and baseless. "the thing we don't like ended up in the game" doesn't correlate to "the developers only listened to yes-men in the community." Overall project and stakeholder vision and intent, real world constraints (time/resources), and/or conflicting preferences shared by different groups are all reasons why things end up the way they do that any of us may not like in the end result. In my experience in some of these groups, feedback was measured and mature, and there were countless debates, but certainly not just glazing for the sake of glazing. Personal opinions vary as much as those across this passionate community. T Additionally, something like a council group is but one vector of insights that goes along with traditional user research (administered hands-on tests and focus surveys), inputs like support tickets, playtesting, partners, and even anecdotal community feedback - positive and negative (videos, posts, etc.). I'm grateful for everyone who has shared feedback in a respectful, constructive manner wherever and however it occurred. It's a gift and Halo is fortunate to have such a passionate longstanding community. I look forward to seeing how community and player insights shape the future of Halo.

I'm not saying every dev is to blame 100%, but this rhetoric that every 'dev on the ground' is some Saint-like figure, pure of heart, incapable of any incompetence, and none of them shoulder any blame for anything to any degree, is frankly ridiculous. Listen to yourselves.

I’m all for a mini boom of Halo content creation in an otherwise awful time but some of you please double check those NDAs and the expiration date on them. They might still be enforceable (or they might not). ✌️

Genuinely curious as to why people are now able to talk about their experiences working with 343i / Halo Studios?

If true, wild. Massive grain of salt on such a rumour, but if Xbox/Activision are intent on only keeping Bungie Halo, scrubbing 343i from memory, and moving forward from there, that's basically the best version of events anyone who's suffered for the last 15 years could wish.

Dubious LinkedIn claim aside, Halo 5's sales are caveated by aggressive discounts early after release. 16.67% discount in less than 2 months. 33.33% discount in less than 3 months. 50% discount in less than 5 months. Limited Edition console bundle even 10% off at 1 month old.
I recall both Halo 4 & 5 sold about or more than 10M by I think it was 2018-19?. Halo 5 should be very impressed by that cause of how many consoles the Xbone had. Same goes for Halo 4 cause it was at the end of the 360. Last official number of Halo 3 was in June 2012 with 10M and Reach at 7M. I think Halo 4 was said to be the fastest selling Halo and the best selling launch in the series? Keep in mind when Halo 3 launched it had I think 15-17M 360s and by Halo 4 it had about 76-84M. While the Xbox One I believe only sold about 35M in its lifetime?
