VIDEO: Charges dropped against former suspects connected to Richardson Waffle House shooting @FOX4 ... RICHARDSON, Texas - As Richardson Police continue to investigate a March 2026 shooting at a Waffle House that left a teenager paralyzed, charges against three suspects arrested in connection to the case have been dropped. 18-year-old Taylor Griffin and 17-year-old Charles Webster were arrested on March 26 in connection with a March 19 shooting at a Waffle House in Richardson. Both were charged with engaging in organized criminal activity. Now, Richardson Police have dropped the charges against both teens. A third teen, who was charged with deadly conduct as a juvenile, also had his charge dropped. Richardson Police released the following statement on the charges being dropped: "Following the development of additional information during the course of the investigation, charges against Taylor Griffin and Charles Webster for Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity have been dropped as well as the charge against the juvenile suspect. Over the past several months Detectives have continued to interview persons of interest and witnesses, however, there has not been enough evidence developed to move forward with filing charges. "Unless there’s new evidence or leads to pursue,  it stops being an active case, that’s where we are now. Cases aren’t really considered ‘closed’ if it’s unresolved. If someone decides to cooperate or something new is presented, detectives would look into it and that could cause the case to become active again." The teens' charges stem from the March 19 shooting of 18-year-old Seth Jackson in the parking lot of a Richardson Waffle House located on Spring Valley Road. The shooting occurred after 50 to 100 people went to the Waffle House after Dallas Police broke up a "twerk pajama party" being held in Dallas. Records reveal that the incident began after an argument led to Griffin and Webster punching other individuals. After Webster threw a punch, multiple people pulled out guns and began shooting. Court documents state Jackson was shot while attempting to help a friend. In videos of the shooting sent to FOX 4, Jackson does not appear to be anywhere near the shooter. Jackson was shot and paralyzed from the waist down. In March, his father told FOX 4 his son was planning on attending the University of Houston this fall, and he was working to make his home ADA compliant. Griffin and Webster were arrested a week after the shooting. Griffin admitted that he punched someone before identifying his cousin Webster to police. Griffin's mother told FOX 4 in March that neither boy fired shots during the incident. Criminologist Alex del Carmen tells FOX 4's David Sentendrey that police may have hoped the former suspects would have given them details on who the shooter was. "So when you have three people, at the very minimum, involved in a criminal act, what typically happens is one of them begins to talk with the cops, right? One of them begins to talk to law enforcement and then they begin to say you know, look, cut me a deal — I don’t want to go to jail." Seth Jackson's father told Sentendrey over the phone he's disappointed the case is no longer active. Richardson Police have not identified or arrested a shooting suspect in connection to the case. The department says it has continued to interview witnesses, but not enough evidence has developed to file charges. In March, photos of five persons of interest were released, and police have asked the public for help in identifying them. They believe students from Richardson ISD, Anna ISD and potentially other school districts were involved in the incident. Police are asking anyone with information on the shooting to contact them immediately at (972) 744-4893.

WATCH: A station guard races to save a 69-year-old passenger being dragged alongside a moving train after he slips into the gap between the carriage and platform in India. VIDEO: Sanger ISD student dies after school bus overturns @FOX4 ... SANGER, Texas - Sanger ISD has confirmed a student died on Thursday after a school bus overturned in Denton. On Thursday, September 24, Sanger Police and Sanger Fire responded to reports of a vehicle that had overturned at Huling Road and Lois Road East in Denton. FOX 4 flew over the scene and saw a Sanger ISD bus had overturned. The Texas Department of Public Safety says the bus was traveling northbound when it veered off the roadway, struck a culvert, and rolled over. Late on Thursday, Sanger ISD released a statement, confirming a student died from the accident. Texas DPS says the 13-year-old student died at a local hospital due to injuries from the crash. Three other students and the bus driver, 38-year-old Jesse Padgett, were uninjured. "We are heartbroken to share that a Sanger ISD school bus was involved in a single-vehicle accident this afternoon. The bus driver and four students were on board. Tragically, one student lost their life in the accident. No other students were injured. Our hearts are with the student’s family and all those impacted by this tragedy. We are working closely with law enforcement and emergency personnel and will share additional information with our families as it becomes available and is appropriate to release. Please keep the family and all those affected by this tragedy in your thoughts. The Department of Public Safety is in charge of the investigation and will be releasing more information at the appropriate time." Texas leaders spoke on social media following the news of the student's death. Officials have not released the name of the student who died in the accident, or what school in Sanger ISD they attended. The Texas Department of Public Safety will release more information on the crash at a later time.
