Harnessing #soundwaves for #photonic #machinelearning: some years ago we embarked on first ideas of optoacoustics for new physical computation concepts. This particular work shows how all-optically created sound waves provide recurrent functionality to optical #neuralnetworks.
Scientists in the @MPI_Light Stiller Research Group, in collab w/ @MIT Englund Research Group, succeeded in laying the foundation for new reconfigurable neuromorphic building blocks by adding a new dimension to photonic #machinelearning: #soundwaves.
