More local medals back in #Chorley!
Awarded to James Gilgun of 28 Eldon St, Chorley. He served in the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. He died of Bronchitis in February 1921. I took his medals to his resting place in Chorley Cemetery 🫡

I'm hoping to trace any #WW2 Veterans in #Chorley & District. I made an appeal last year but had no responses. Zero. My concern is that we have allowed the last of our WW2 Veterans to pass by. Comment below or private message.

This week is the first National Cadets Week. It began with a message from the King. Thank you to all Staff, Volunteers & Parents across #Chorley & District that give up their time to help the youth at Sea Cadets Chorley, Chorley Air Cadets - 92 Sqn RAFAC & British Army Cadets 🫡
I was asked if I could help a Major of the Royal Netherlands Army with an enquiry about one of our #Chorley#WW2 casualties. I sent the Major a photo of Pte Southworth and he sent me a photo of his grave. We will remember them 🇬🇧
