Andy Burnham went on the BBC and gave a character verdict on a man who has pleaded not guilty. Daniel Thomas is in custody. The case is live. Asked if he is a racist, the Prime Minister said it was “hard to conclude that he’s anything other than someone who has racist views,” then called his actions “the worst kind of hateful behaviour.” That is not governing. That is the head of government trying the defendant on television. You can think the Channel stunt was reckless. You can think masked intimidation on the street is unacceptable. None of that gives No. 10 the right to pre-load a jury with a label before the evidence is heard. A fair trial means the state proves the charge in court, not on a Sunday sofa. If the case is strong, prosecute it. If it isn’t, a Prime Minister’s verdict doesn’t fix it. It just makes the trial dirtier.

Notice the State’s little communist army has been assigned to picket Restore? Reform barely gets a mention now. The State knows we are the danger. Reform and the Tories are containment.

Many others have observed that we seem to be on a countdown to civil war. The imprisonment (without trial) of Danny Tommo leads us closer to that end, as the decision to refuse him bail was clearly politically motivated and orchestrated at the highest level. But for the safeguard of a jury trial, Tommo would probably be stitched up by the Crown Court as well. As it is, there will be a huge battle on 29 September when his legal team seek to overturn the remand order and get him released on bail. Given that thousands of suspected sex offenders are to be released on bail to relieve prison overcrowding, the fact that Tommo has been refused bail tells its own story - the impartiality of the judicial system is now an open question. As with the police, public trust (and respect) in the judiciary is dwindling fast.

Despite the precautions our Holborn and St Pancras campaigning team took today, including hiring private security, moving locations and more, we did think the ‘anti-racist’ mob would somehow turn up to attack and intimidate our action day today. So we made a plan. Our campaign manager, @lewisrholmes, knew that he would be targeted again so he volunteered to leave our main group and take the protestors along with him. It worked. They followed and abused Lewis, whilst he attempted to leaflet an area away from the other campaign groups. The goons, like the thick-minded idiots they are, took the bait and hounded Lewis. That allowed the rest of our team to continue the campaigning day, which allowed thousands and thousands of leaflets to be delivered. A big thanks to Lewis, who put it all together, and a huge well done to the team who have contacted thousands of Holborn & St Pancras residents with our message. Their attack on our team has also led to massive coverage of our campaign messages on social media. It's an utter disgrace what has happened, but we will not let the mob stop us. A well deserved pint for the team.
