Pony Waifu Sim Update - Early July! Hey everyone, and happy boom day to all of our Amareican fans!🎆 Apologies for the slightly delayed update, but Scion and tiarawhy have moved IRL! This is actually somewhat relevant to the studio as the new location has a room that will function as a workshop as well as a dedicated server room with direct fiber-optic connection. This will allow us to have a dedicated space for collaboration and crafting new merchandise as well as allowing us to grow our self-hosting capabilities. As for work on the game, we have crafted the dialogue and sprites for several more cute interactions that will be able to be found around town. We have also been working on the Yarn dialogue system upgrade again. The next part of Flustershy’s route is still planned for the next major update, and we are in the process of finalizing it so that we can start on its artwork. Pony Waifu Sim Release - v6.4.0 Golden Harmony! Charity should know better than to barge into Purple’s lab. Inquirer-tiers can see the results of her inevitable mishap.👀 It’s finally here, the update you’ve all been waiting for: Golden Harmony! This update involves three brand-new new minigames as Anon works to process the Golden Leaf into something for the mirror. Make sure to show Purple Smart your leaf if you haven’t! Just as a heads up, this update does not contain any additional lewd scenes, but it does contain a lot of flavorful dialogue with Flustershy and Purple Smart! Unfortunately, there is still an issue with the Android build, so that will come later. As always, please let us know if you run into any issues at all!

Unfortunately, I do not think we will have the second minigame as polished as it needs to be by tomorrow night (it works, but it can look much better), and we do need to dedicate a whole day to building the final releases so our new release date is Thursday the 4th. Pony Waifu Sim - Update on v6.4.0 (Almost there!) Hey everyone, Scion here, we have been hard at work on version 6.4.0 and it is almost ready! However, it still needs a bit more time to be fully ready and polished. We will get it out as soon as possible but no later than the 31st! Public release will follow 2 days after the private release as usual. Due to some sudden high-priority obligations with my work, I have not had as much time to finish posing and polishing the update as I would have liked, but it's coming and what is done is looking great! In other news, we finally are ready to announce the release date for the processing of the golden leaf. We aim to have this content, complete with two new minigames, ready for release by May 17th! Our upgrade to the dialogue system is taking a bit longer than anticipated, so we decided to switch gears and get this next chunk of content out first. Pony Waifu Sim Update - Early March There’s nothing quite like hitting the hay after a long day’s work. Most of the work this month has been dedicated towards on the upgrade to our dialogue system, Yarn Spinner. It’s quite an extensive overhaul, and we need to finish it before the next release. This does make it likely that the processing of the golden leaf will end up having implementation finished in April. Other work we’ve been doing involves maintenance and upgrades to our back-end hosting infrastructure. Also, one of our host’s servers began experiencing hardware failures, which took a while to diagnose, but thankfully it got resolved without any major issues. We have released a minor patch version that should fix an issue causing saves to not properly migrate for users in some locales. The Poison Joke flowers for these players should now grow back properly. What is the current status of upcoming content? There are three large chunks of upcoming content we have planned out, along with some world-building content: The processing of the golden leaf. - Size - Large (Larger than Doing Chemistry to process the catalyst) - Writing - Done - Art - Done - Implementation & Posing - Working on it. Revisiting the brothel. - Size - Large - Writing - Done - Art - To Do - Implementation & Posing - Comes after Art. Flustershy’s next date. - Size - Huge (Twice the size of Large) - Writing - Halfway Done - Art - To Do - Implementation & Posing - Comes after Art. Some new world-building content. - Size - Small - Writing - Done - Art - In Progress - Implementation & Posing - Comes after Art. Hopefully this gives a clearer an idea of what the current status of each piece of content is and what is coming next. What’s taking so long? As some of you have probably noticed, the time between major updates has increased. There are a multitude of reasons for this, and we will discuss each of them and our plans to mitigate them going forward. The sheer size of the game, caused by having so many high-quality sprites and animations, makes it difficult to work with. - It takes a whole day to make production builds, and we literally couldn’t build for Android for a while. We have already completed some major technical feats to mitigate this, such as refactoring the way assets are compressed and loaded. However this had the negative impact of slightly increasing the number of loading screens we still need to look into improving. There is an ever-increasing number of lines of dialogue to keep track of and our dialogue system, Yarn Spinner, is still on version 1.x when version 3.x is the current version. - There have been significant improvements in tooling in the latest versions of YarnSpinner, and migrating to version 3.x (and staying updated) would improve our iteration speed dramatically. Fully-fledged animations take a lot of time and cost a lot of money. - We don’t want to cut animations entirely, but we are definitely planning them out a long time in advance and using them for extra special moments. We will be focusing a bit more on “psuedo-animated” scenes like when you give Blue Fast a massage. Real-life issues taking priority. - From Scion being laid off last year, to tiarawhy being forced to travel across the world before that, we have had to deal with some major personal upsets. Thankfully those are dealt with, but all the while there has been ever-increasing pressure on adult-content creators through payment processor pressure and age-verification laws that we have to constantly stay on top of to protect ourselves. Maintaining our infrastructure. - As adult content creators, we are not able to safely use a lot of the online development tools that people take for granted. This has led to need to self-host everything that we do, and that requires maintenance. Learning to vend at Mare Fair and sell merchandise. - Learning how to procure merchandise, manage inventory, process payments, as well as shipping and logistics took a lot of upfront research and investment. Thankfully, this is experience that we now have and so doing this again and making new creative merch will be easier in the future. Personal investments into side-projects. - Including things like @WhyCloudNet and some unannounced smaller projects, we have definitely spread ourselves a bit thin. Projects to bring in more revenue have been going on behind the scenes for a while and are almost done but just need to be pushed past the finish line. So we need to sit down and get those efforts released and not take on new projects. Thankfully, it is comforting to know that, from our recent poll, a large portion of you support our efforts to fight censorship or make small side-games.

Pony Waifu Sim 6.3.0 Release! What recklessness could set you down such a path, one requiring this Zebra to give you a bath? It’s finally out, the secret scene is now publicly available and integrated into the main game! To get this scene you need to ignore Zekoro’s sage advice and pick a certain plant without protection. If you have already seen the secret scene, this does add some additional dialogue and a cute scene with Purple as long as you don’t access it via the keypad. Some of the localizations may not be entirely complete, but any missing parts should be added in the coming weeks. In our poll, some of our supporters suggested going into more detail on why updates seem to be taking longer, and we agree. At the end of this month we will discuss some of the technical challenges we’ve faced building a game as asset-heavy as Pony Waifu Sim, our plans to resolve these issues, and a timeline for the upcoming updates. The good news is that you shouldn’t have to wait nearly as long for the next major update. For now, enjoy making some Zebra magic!

StudioWhy Content Poll (Public) Hey everyone, as you are probably aware StudioWhy has dipped its hooves into a variety of different efforts. From our pride and joy Pony Waifu Sim, to wanting to fight back against digital censorship, to creating merchandise and launching our own store! However our time and resources are limited, and so we wanted to get your feedback on efforts you are happy to support and hear about. Note: Not every idea that appears in this poll is something that we have been actively pursuing, we just want to get your feedback.

Pony Waifu Sim Update - Happy New Year! Happy New Year, all of our mare-loving fans! If you just want to know when the next update will be released, mark your calendar for January 25th! Aside from that, we have a lot to talk about! Looking back… To say 2025 has been challenging would be an understatement. A Rocky Start @Steam and @itchio have cracked down on adult games due to payment processor pressure, age-verification requirements are becoming more widespread across the US and Europe, and consumer computer hardware has skyrocketed in price. Everything indicates that things are just going to become more challenging for studios like ours. Although the support we receive is incredible and helps out a lot, it’s not enough to support everyone working even part-time on the project. Our primary programmer, Scion, has historically bridged that gap with funds from his full-time employment. In late April Scion was laid-off into a horrible job-market after just closing on a new property. His savings and credit have allowed us to close out the year without cuts, but we needed to find a new source of revenue. WhyCloud After the fiasco with Steam and Itchio (which closed off another source of donations) we thought to try and crowdfund an effort to help creators gain their independence and self-host their own content with @WhyCloudNet. This is based on technology and knowledge we used in our own journey to become fully self-hosted. In spite of receiving a large amount of support, it wasn’t enough to for Scion to be able to support both himself and us while committing to it full-time. We’re still going to release the source code, but Scion needed to become financially stable first. Looking ahead! The good news is that Scion has managed to land some well-paid ongoing private contract work for the studio that will allow us to keep going, and fulfilling these contracts directly benefits the studio. We also have the assets complete for the next 2 major updates we plan on releasing. The bad news is that we will need to significantly reduce the amount hours we can pay some of our artists and programmers for at least the next several months. We will revisit the situation at the end of May to see if we are able to return to normal. Thankfully there is more good news than bad, and we do believe that we will pull through this tough time eventually. We also will want your opinion on what projects the studio does, or could pursue, and will be having a poll for Patrons and Subscribers in the next week or so. Pony Waifu Sim 6.3.0 In spite of everything we do feel comfortable enough announcing our next release date: January 25th! This will make the currently secret-scene public, integrate it into the game world, and add a lot more cute and sexy context to it. Although we were hoping to have our next update by the end of the month, some technical challenges took priority. - We finally were able to migrate all of our issues, attachments, and pull-request history to our new Gitea code repository. - We upgraded all of our games to the latest Unity long-term support version, which involved solving some annoying new issues. - We also made a lot of progress on the writing for the next Flustershy route, and it’s becoming quite involved! Hey @itchio, we contacted support a week ago about our game, Pony Waifu Sim, being quarantined without us being notified. Since then, we have followed up several times but received no response. We were on the front page of Adult games after launch, and this incident has prevented many new people from discovering our game. We are working on optimizing which assets are loaded when to minimize loading times. - Our next release will revolve around the processing of the Golden Leaf, and require help from both Purple Smart and Flustershy, and also includes two new minigames. - The writing for Flustershy’s next route is almost done, and either that or the brothel scene will be next. This scene is exclusive to those with the code for now, but will be expanded upon and integrated into the full game later this year. The static art is almost done, and we are mostly waiting on the animation to be finished. - We have been working on updating our shop! We have a good bit of leftover merchandise and are going to be launching our full-fledged store soon! - We are planning on vending at @BABSCon 2025 in the AD hall! Pony Waifu Sim Update - Late August (Almost there!) The Blue Fast finale - Cloud Workout is almost here! This is a short update to let you know that we are crunching hard to get this update out and our current target is before 11:59PM PST September 7th. We just need this last week to finish tying everything together, adding the necessary polish, updating localization, and testing the release thoroughly. Pony Waifu Sim Update - Late July It's update time!!! tiarawhy is hard at work wrapping up these animations for the release of the Blue Fast finale. We would have preferred to have them completely done by now, but we still believe that we can meet our deadline of releasing by the end of August! We recently got our update to the input system finalized, which will make it significantly easier to read books on mobile. It also makes it much easier to add new advanced inputs in the future. Progress was also made on the writing for the secret scene, as well as the next activity for repairing the machine. You will finally get to make use of that golden leaf! Pony Waifu Sim Update - Early April Hey everyone, it's a new month with new stuff to show! First things first, we have fixed an issue with the Android build of all of our games that prevented them from being installed on certain Android devices. Particularly Samsung devices. All of our games have now been patched! Thank our Patron DraginEye for helping us debug this tricky issue! We've been hard at work implementing the Blue Fast finale. One thing we are currently working on is upgrading how the game processes input, which should allow us to make the mobile controls a lot more intuitive! We have also been hard at work preparing all sorts of wonderful merch for Mare Fair this September! If you support us at the con, we will give you one of these awesome postcards that will contain a code to a secret scene in-game that you will have early access to!
