The Devs are going to quickly learn that those spreading the message, do not care about the message. A small group of highly motivated losers can make noise that sounds like millions. We saw this with Overwatch, Helldivers, Arc Raiders, and many more. Each developer had different responses, but all were dealing with the same issue.
Focus on the vision and nothing else. If a complaint is not about a bug or the vision, throw it out. Projects don't succeed by listening to a community, they succeed by executing on an idea better than everyone else. Do not listen to the words, watch the actions. Overwatches 6v6 returned not because we were loud, it returned because we had Workshop developers who knew the game they wanted to play, and players who desired to play it. Nothing else. Player numbers dont matter, player time does.
Alright real talk and feedback time.
I’ve posted on X quite a lot, so have some of our other guys.
The sentiment around
@wardogs is preparing to go more negative as people begin to criticise its short comings or quirks that people find. The first thing they will say will be “stop tweeting and go and fix your game”.
Now, obviously, these two things are not mutually exclusive.. we can do both, but what do you think about our communication?
Not looking for any glaze here; legitimate feedback.. roast me if you must, but what should we stop doing and what should we start doing?
