What I do find funny is seeing people who maligned several of our offensive lineman for the past 9 months also disregard Brock not having been sacked yet under "his OL is playing out of this world".
For 9 months: "this OL is trash outside of Trent and Kyle refuses to address it!!"
Now: "Brock's OL is playing better than anyone else. Give ______ this protection and they'd be doing even more!"

Man, I really love what Raheem Morris is doing to challenge offensive pass pro schemes.
With the TE not attached, he can't be in a true pass pro - a chip and release, at best. So, he walks up Upton Stout to the left with Warner mugging the B-gap and Keione White the left of the center. So, if the line wants a "big on big" blocking where the RB won't have to try and block a DE off the opposite side, they have to have a 4-man slide to Stout's side. Otherwise, Stout blitzing through the B-gap(between guard and tackle) would put the RB on the DE. So, this isolates Fred Warner on the RB in pass pro.
Perfect example of a coach "putting his players in a position to succeed". It's a common phrase, but this is what it looks like.

What we're seeing with Brock isnt just a "he's playing lights out, right now".
We're seeing a player that has grown, each year. He keeps working, keeps tightening things up. Hes throwing more type 1 balls(on a line), than years past. The exact type of player you want.

#49ers QB Brock Purdy has a 93.7 QBR. That's the highest by any QB in his team's first 3 games since the metric was introduced in 2006.
Josh Allen in 2024 had the previous mark at 93.5. Three of the other top four went on to win MVP (Allen, Tom Brady in '07 and Peyton Manning in '13).
Of QBs to play three games this year, Lamar Jackson is next in QBR at 83.8.

I go back and forth on this. The thing with Mac is, it isn't about "can I win a SB with him?" It's, "can we win enough in 6 games if Brock misses time?" So your season isnt scuttled, should that happen.
I’m starting to rethink this given the state of the D-line. If the 49ers can get legit help in the trenches in return for Mac Jones they should do it.
SF can win games with Jones, prob not a Super Bowl. They can’t win a Super Bowl with the current state of the D-line either imo
