Swarm to begin field evaluation of interceptor and swarm search-and-rescue systems with a European security partner in April 2027
Following two confirmed commercial contracts and field trials scheduled through 2027, Swarm will move its Interceptor and Swarm SAR families from simulation and lab work into a structured field evaluation with a European special operations security partner.
Preparatory talks have been underway for several months. Details of the partner and the operational setting will remain limited. Given the nature of the programme, that is intentional.
The evaluation is planned to begin in April 2027. It will be the first autonomous programme of this kind Swarm has taken into the field with a European security force: coordinated interceptor and multi-agent search-and-rescue behaviour, tested under conditions closer to real deployment than a benchmark or a demonstration flight.
Swarm’s commercial work already includes autonomous surveillance for solar infrastructure. The 2027 programme sits on that same line — applied autonomy, not a slide deck. Simulation first. Then controlled testing. Then the field.

Talks from Tesel·la, ANYbotics and Siemens, multiple demos that got the whole room talking, and a proper crowd of people building robotics in Barcelona.
We came scouting solutions we could bring to industry — and left surprised. Plenty of ground robots. Not one drone.
Plenty still to be done. At Swarm we're working counterclockwise to bring it.
