Today marks the 20th anniversary of the passing of KC Monarchs legend, Buck O'Neil. This picture was taken as Buck stepped up to the plate for his last ever at-bat, right here in Legends Field (formerly CommunityAmerica Ballpark at the time). It's one of the many reasons we chose the name, "Legends Field" for our ballpark - because true legends wore the Kansas City Monarchs name, like Buck. As he once said, “Don’t be jealous of any other city. Kansas City is the greatest city on earth.” Buck was a true icon in the world of baseball as well as the founder of the @NLBMuseumKC. We tip our caps to you, Buck. This one's for you.

This interview with Jon-Eric Sullivan and Kevin Clark on This Is Football slipped through the cracks for too many people. I’ve referenced it all offseason, training camp and preseason on my channel. JES has been VERY transparent thus far and he told everyone that they are giving Malik Willis two draft classes and two free agency cycles to prove if he’s the guy. Now, will what he said 110% stop them from taking a QB in the 2027 NFL Draft, thus turning Malik Willis into a legitimate bridge? I won’t say that at all because a lot can happen between now and April but I believe Malik Willis would have to fall off a cliff and leave zero doubt about how he’s not anywhere close to being the guy. I also think there would need to be a clear cut guy at QB1 who is worth the #1 pick (undeniable tape, tools, etc.) and no one has separated themselves from the pack as that guy yet this year in College. So to the people that want to draft a Quarterback just to say your team did, even if it means reaching and not taking BPA (which so many of you preach the opposite of) or moving back a few spots to add more draft capital in 2028, just know that doesn’t align with Jon-Eric Sullivan’s stated vision. #PhinsUp
