Advancing the frontier of neural interfaces to improve the human condition

New York City
We’re excited to share a long-awaited public demo of full computer cursor control from brain signals, in a @neuralink-style demonstration, but entirely non-invasive. No surgery, implants, or eye-tracking. This is Atlas™, @SynaptrixAI's non-invasive brain-computer interface platform, made possible by treating EEG decoding as a frontier AI problem and investing deeply in the models, data, and hardware needed to push the field forward. Our capabilities have progressed dramatically over the past year, and we believe non-invasive systems can approach the capabilities currently associated with implanted BCIs very soon! The goal for Atlas™ is much bigger than cursor control. We are building toward restoring communication and mobility for people with severe disabilities, from computer access and wheelchair control to prosthetic arms, legs, and other assistive systems. No implants or surgery. Just the brain controlling machines. We believe disability can become a solved problem. Learn more about what we’re building at Synaptrix! synaptrix-labs.com

At @SynaptrixAI, we’re exploring how people can control powered wheelchairs using only their minds, completely non-invasively. Our Atlas™ platform decodes movement intentions from EEG in real time and translates them into control of an on-screen cursor, similar to a motor implant without the surgery. Move the cursor forward and the wheelchair moves forward. Move it in any other direction and the chair follows. The same platform can enable thought-controlled wheelchair mobility, full computer access for work, gaming, chess, and more, as well as prosthetic and robotic arm control. It represents an important step toward restoring mobility and independence for people with paralysis without requiring an implant. We believe our systems will reach the capabilities of implanted interfaces by the end of this decade. Atlas™ will help many people explore and interact with the world once again!

We’re running a study in NYC to help develop next generation mind control technology, and YOU can take part. Each session lasts ~90 minutes and pays $50, with the option to complete multiple sessions. During the study, you’ll wear a research headset and imagine specific movements while we record your brain activity (aka mind control). Sign up here: calendly.com/synaptrix/data-… Your participation contributes to research aimed at restoring mobility and communication for people living with paralysis. Sessions take place at our NYC lab and involve sitting comfortably while wearing a snug research cap.

Here’s a behind the scenes look at Atlas™, our non-invasive brain-computer interface, driving a wheelchair simply by thinking about the direction you want to move. A future where people interact with machines and devices using their thoughts is closer than you think (and no, you don’t need implants to do any of this). At @SynaptrixAI, we are building high performance non-invasive BCIs that translate neural activity measured from the scalp into real time control signals. Using advanced signal processing, new classes of deep learning models, and large scale neural datasets, we are able to separate true cortical intent, enabling stable decoding of motor and other neural signals. In these early demonstrations, users are able to control a cursor and navigate interfaces using only their brain activity. The same underlying system can be extended to wheelchair navigation, assistive communication, prosthetics, and other programmable brain driven applications. This is still early work, but the trajectory is clear. As models improve and datasets scale, non-invasive neural interfaces will become dramatically more capable, accessible, and deployable in the real world. We’re excited to share the early progress!
