Leafs gamescore for 10-06-26 vs. Nashville Another game that got missed because of my schedule, but looks like a dominant game for the top six and the Rielly - Raddysh pairing? PK and Paul not as good though? Let me know if the stats are backing up what the eyes are seeing.

Leafs gamescore for 10-03-26 vs. Ottawa Sorry for the delay, out with friends tonight so only caught the last five; looked like a good 5v5 game besides whatever Troy Stecher was doing? John Tavares looked brutal down the stretch too.

Leafs gamescore for 09-30-26 vs. NYI Another pretty rough game for the second line was masked by a great bottom six effort led by Easton Cowan. Great play by the third pair and an overall solid effort from Rielly-Raddysh which gets diminished by the SHG.

For @TMLJaysNiners & @fksambennett heres Nikishin's card. Defensive numbers are inflated because of RBA system, but still looks solid. The offensive numbers are a bit questionable because the discrepency between chance creation (team) and individual offence is large.

Simon Edvinsson is still unsigned as we enter October... As Edvinssons only played two full years, its almost unfari to categorize his 16 game 23-24 as part of his NHL tenure. He's a growing two-way dman who pushes pace the right way, blocks a lot and is massive.
I dont see a single feasible way for it to happen but good god would Simon Edvinsson look good in blue and white.

Leafs gamescore for 09-29-26 vs. Montreal Marchenko looked like the most dominant player on the ice, bar none. Piss poor game for Darren Raddysh and need more confidence out of McKenna. Not sure what Macewen does for this team either; should be scratched.

Matthew Knies, heading to Columbus in the Marchenko deal, is an all-situations, toolsy power forward who had a down year with Berube last year. Still a high end complimentary winger who has some very slick hands.

There is word this afternoon the Columbus Blue Jackets and Toronto Maple Leafs are deep in discussions on a trade involving Kirill Marchenko. More to come...

Kirill Marchenko trade rumors are heating up with lots of teams interested in the talented winger. Ever since taking a leap two years ago, he hasn’t looked back. Elite metrics on a middling team and still only 26. Could easily be a 35/80 guy long term with a good support cast.

Leafs gamescore for 09-23-26 vs. Ottawa (HOME) I'll admit, I didn't watch the first two periods (I was out!). But this looks like an absolute dominant performance from top to bottom, albeit, only preseason. Morgan Rielly.... have yourself a night.

Next up in the Leafs projection series is Brandon Duhaime! Duhaime is probably the most projectable Leafs player next year: ~15-20 points, good defensive numbers, lots of dzone starts, speed to burn and ~150-200 hits. Played with Dewar a lot in MIN and still only 29.

Next up in the Leafs projection series is Nick Paul, who had a pretty rough year last year on the scoring side of things for Tampa. He's never been a real offensive playdriver, but he limits chances well and can score at a decent clip above his generation metrics.

Not really sure why Frank decided to make a post on Sourdif specifically, considering how well he did in his rookie year. All he's done is prove people wrong since getting drafted and getting moved to Washington. He'll be a fantastic middle six option for the Caps.
That is an eye popping number - and maybe the most jarring of the new salary cap environment the #NHL is now living in.

Cutter Gauthier, signed 13.5x5 in Anaheim, is an elite playdriving machine who does a lot even though he isn't always stapled to Leo Carlsson. Facilitates a lot, annoying as hell to play against and one of the better snipers in the league already. Will be a force for years.

Next up in the Leafs projections series is sophomore Easton Cowan! Cowan didn't exactly *thrive* under Craig Berube, but he made it work as a solid bottom six option. He really put things together towards the end of the year, so hope is he can continue rounding out his game.

Montreal signs F Zach Bolduc to a 4 year extension at a pretty reasonable rate. Suffered a sophomore slump after coming out of the gates flying for the Habs, he likely becomes a consistent middle six forward that has a solid defensive presence at his ceiling.

Next up in the Leafs projections series is the big addition up front in Jack Roslovic! Roslovic has pretty much been a consistently solid offensive contributor that struggles on the defensive end of the puck year-in and year-out. Scores more than he generates; good shooter.

Chris Kreider, signed to a one-year contract by Montreal, is a playdriving middle six winger who lost a bit of his scoring touch over the last two years but still puts up elite rate metrics. Still has absolute wheels, puts up good winger defensive metrics and can score 20+.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has fallen a bit since his 100 point year riding shotgun with McDavid, but that isn't to say he's a bad player - he just doesn't score as much as he sued to. His two-way game tanked last year, but he's still a very solid second line C/W.

Mr. Forecheck Backcheck Paycheque didn't have the best year in his rookie season with Philadelphia, but he provides a good level of physicality and can crash the net well if needed. The hands and skating will take work, so he's a tweener at this point in his career.

Fedor Svechkov, who was traded to Colorado earlier this offseason, is a decent bottom six centerman who actually put up pretty reasonable playdriving metrics. Can't score for the life of him but solid bets from Sakic.

Colin Grafs role and PAVEL suffer from a poor rookie campaign play-driving wise, but he absolutely took a massive step last year as a complimentary top six winger with a bit of speed and scoring touch. As one of @RyanMaScouting 's Quinnipac boys, I'm sure he'll only get better.

Barrett Hayton would've been my number one non-Pettersson ask for Toronto's problem at 3C. As much as I like Sissons, Hayton would've been the perfect defence-first, playdriving centerman that would've taken a lot of heat off Tavares/Matthews. He's quite young too.

Brock Boeser has struggled quite a bit over the last two years in a diminishing Canucks system. Despite still producing on the PP, the 5v5 playdriving numbers have dipped and he hasn't been able to put together great finishing numbers either. Wonder if Malhotra fixes it a bit.

Kirill Marchenko has consistently been in trade rumors this offseason, especially with #GoHabsGo, which would be less than ideal. Marchenko has developed into a top six playdriving facilitator and would easily become many teams primary offensive catalyst. He's phenomenal.

Durzi has always been a solid offensive defenseman, but his two way game has slipped a bit over the past few years with injuries and bit more jump in the offensive side of his game. He'll likely transition into a nice middle pairing dman for the Rangers and a PP2 QB.

Podkolzin honestly has some very decent comparables in Zetterlund and Martinook, considering his style of play. He's a fierce competitor, tenacious, hits a lot and can chip in with a decent amount of offence. Makes a lot happen for his centerman, which is typically 97 or 29.

Kreider, a recent UFA had a decent bounce back year after a poor final campaign with NYR. He has always driven play at a very high level, but the finishing touch at 5v5 dipped significantly. He's probably not an elite top six option anymore, but he'll provide good depth offence.

Ivan Demidov, who recently signed a very team-friendly contract, had a pretty solid rookie year for himself. Especially considering who his centermen were, his numbers and playdriving metrics are extremely solid. He's only going to continue to get better, especially with PP1 TOI.

Erik Karlsson had a nice bounce back year last year in Pittsburgh, but his overall metrics, especially playdriving wise, are beginning to trend downwards. He's still an elite facilitator who puts up pretty big numbers from the backend, but his huge $$ amount comes with risk.

The other big FA forward still on the market is Vladimir Tarasenko, who is the epitome of get what you pay for - an average bottom six winger who scores at a decent clip, playdrives decently well but is well past his prime. On a small $$ amount, he'd be a nice get for any team.

Going to be taking any card requests again today, so just comment and happy to send a card out! Here's Matthew Schaefer, who performed admirably as a rookie phenom. His defensive game will come with time (and a non-Roy HC), but this is his absolute floor. He's a star.

Next up in the Leafs projection series is Oliver Ekman-Larsson, who performed admirably as the Leafs sole offensive dman last year. As he gets older, he tends to take more penalties and has more giveaways, so he's best in a third pair role where he can take more risk.

Nick Blankenburg, expected to be signed to a PTO by Toronto, fits the mould of a bottom-pairing puck moving defenseman. He's way on the smaller side and hasn't had a lot of reps, but has excelled in his minutes when given a chance. 24 points in 61 games last year and only 28 y/o.

For the second half of the 2for1 is Joshua’s likely centerman and a guy coming off an injury-laden 25/26 in Teddy Blueger. He normally provides a decent level of d-zone C support as well as a pretty good faceoff%. Expecting a full bounceback in all regards next year.

Didnt get to post yesterday but we’re gonna go 2for1 today! First up is Dakota Joshua, who had a pretty routine year for himself last year as an energy fourth liner. He hits a lot, battles at the netfront and can score ~10/year, but this is more of the player he is than 23/24

Next up in the Leafs projection series is probably the most underrated component of next years Leafs in Jake McCabe. McCabe saw his defensive numbers drop significantly last year in a pretty rough year, however, I fully expect a bounceback especially with Raddysh as a partner.

Chris Kreider easily becomes the most intruiguing option on the FA market after he clears waivers. He's big, still has a pretty good offensive touch but lacks the finishing that made him dominant on NYR. Will be a nice third line get for an eastern conference team.

Next up in the Leafs projections series is new dman Emil Andrae! In a lot of ways, Andrae reminds me a bit of Rasmus Sandin. Andrae has put up excellent defensive numbers in a sheltered role, and has the prototypical two-way dman build. A bigger role will be interesting.

Fraser Minten, signed 7.2x7 by Boston, is a two-way centerman who had a pretty successful rookie campaign, albeit with a high shooting percentage. He's an excellent forechecker, sound defensively and can chip in a good bit of offence. He's still got time to develop a bit too.

For @jae2so, Thomas Chabot gets weighed down a lot by an injury-laden 2023/24. His numbers overall are solid across the board, and he provides a lot of stable offence from a second pair guy, even if he isn't racking up huge points. Has a very good PIM differential for his TOI.

Lafreniere will always have the title of #10A pick designed to him, however, he may never live up that hype. Even still, he's turned into a very solid top six winger who scores at a consistent rate and suppresses chances very well. Will be interesting to see on Dorofeyevs offwing

Another interesting player, Noah Dobson does a lot of things right and is an excellent #2 behind Hutson. However, his defensive numbers cratered last year, meaning he'll need to round himself back into form for the Habs to take another leap. Still, an excellent offensive creator.

Sanheim was one of the 'questionable' selections for team Canada last year, but his underlyings paint a completely different picture. He's an extremely fluid skater, chips in a bit of offence and can lug huge minutes if needed. Just isn't the sexy namebrand. Think Spurgeon 2.0.

Entering year 4 of Bedard and he finally took the ascent to stardom offensively. His supporting cast has been very weak, but he's managed to create a lot of chances and score at an elite clip. His defensive game needs a lot of work, but Frondell at 2C should help a lot.
