I got a used laptop PC in 2013.
I went with a computer science graduate because I was pretty much a novice.
Great idea, right?
Not always.
I paid about β¦50,000 for it β good money at the time.
The battery lasted probably less than 30 minutes unless it was plugged in. But I could charge my HTC phone from its USB port for a whole day or more if I hibernated the laptop.
Basically, I had bought an expensive power bank for my phone. π
And it was overpriced.
Around 2014β2016, I was buying and selling better laptops for roughly β¦25,000ββ¦40,000.
I thought I bought a laptop.
What I actually bought was a lesson.
That lesson is part of why I created the BEFORE YOU BUY series.
Iβve spent more than 13 years selling used consumer products, over 7 years buying and selling online, and more than 10 years selling and fixing ICT gadgets.
I made these guides to help you avoid avoidable buying mistakes β especially the ones that can cost far more than the price of the guide.
And yes, you still have to pay for the guides. π
But itβs an insignificant amount compared with making the wrong purchase.
