Jason's family issued a statement saying that they were "in shock to have lost this amazing father, partner, brother, uncle and son". They said "The campaign of misinformation was too much for Jason, who was a gentle man and who always wanted to see the best in everyone."

Tragic and heartbreaking news..🙏🏽 Jason Arday, the former Professor at the University of Cambridge has been found dead at an address in Battersea. According to reports, Arday was found “unresponsive” at an address in Battersea on Friday afternoon. He was later pronounced dead. A spokesman for the Met said officers were called by the London Ambulance Service at 3.12 p.m. “Sadly, a 41-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.
