/ Tandem Compute is live. We’re building distributed AI compute infrastructure across Ireland. Small, liquid-cooled sites. Located where power is available. With the heat returned for useful work. Compute. Heat. Return.

/ AI is not another software cycle. The infrastructure being built to support it is already one of the largest capital deployment cycles in modern history. The race is no longer just about better models. It is about securing the compute, power and infrastructure required to run them.

/ For the first time, the largest technology companies are taking on debt to keep expanding compute capacity. This is the Red Queen effect: run faster just to stay in the same place. Each new generation of hardware raises the bar again. The spending does not stop. Every dollar not spent becomes competitive ground ceded.

/ And the demand curve itself is changing. The next major consumer of compute may not be human. AI agents can work continuously, consume tokens at machine speed and create more agents. Machines are beginning to generate their own demand for compute.

/ AI demand is growing quickly. Demand is not the constraint. The harder problem is increasingly where that compute can actually be powered and deployed. Large power connections can take years. Power is becoming the scarce part.

/ That is why Tandem takes a different approach. We go smaller. A 100 kVA, 500 kVA or 1 MVA opportunity matters to us in a way it simply does not to a hyperscaler. Instead of waiting for one enormous connection, we build around smaller pockets of power that already exist.

/ Six things are changing at the same time: - chips are getting denser - cooling is going liquid - fibre reaches almost everywhere - grid capacity is constrained - regulation is tightening - on-site generation is improving

/ And then there is heat. Almost every watt consumed by compute eventually becomes heat. Traditional data centres treat that heat as something to get rid of. We treat it as something that can help determine where compute should go.

/ At smaller scale, that can mean a swimming pool, leisure centre or hotel. The pod produces compute. The recovered heat goes back into the building — helping heat pools, hot water or other thermal loads. The host needs heat. We need somewhere useful to put it.

/ At industrial scale, the same idea gets much bigger. Food processing. Drying. Laundries. Manufacturing. Other sites with continuous thermal demand. At 1–5 MW, heat reuse can become part of the industrial energy system rather than simply a building-efficiency measure.

/ Ireland sits between two worlds. The regulatory framework and data-sovereignty demands of Europe. The technological ambition, capital and AI leadership of the United States. That combination helped make Ireland a global home for digital infrastructure. But almost all of that capacity , 99% of it sits around Greater Dublin. We think the next generation can be more distributed. Smaller. Closer to the power. Built across Ireland. Unlocking the rest of Ireland.

/ AI will reshape the economy. Most people will consume it. We’re building the infrastructure behind it. Tandem’s September 2026 EIIS round is now open. Become an owner of the AI revolution. Not just a consumer. tandemcompute.ai/eiis/
