The time savings doesn't matter, just like the time savings doesn't actually matter when someone goes to File -> Save with their mouse, but we still all use a shortcut we learned for it.

A little over the top but yeah on a few occasions I tried learning vim, got 5 minutes into it and immediately concluded “time spent moving my mouse around is way too small to make this bullshit worthwhile” and just went back to a normal ide

Once Vim *clicks*, and it does once you stick with it enough to understand it's rules and grammar, it's incredibly intuitive and it's hard to go back.
Would I recommend anyone to learn it? Eh, no. It's pretty fun though. 2/3
