Such a fun podcast, thanks for having me!
Most tech podcasts talk to founders AFTER the story is already written. The round closed, the press release went out, the founder has the talk track memorized and he’s appeared on 100 podcasts already. I always wanted the version BEFORE any of that exists. So, I’m launching Undercovered! A new show where I sit down with founders building companies most people haven't heard of yet, over a meal at some of the best tables in New York. Episode one is at Ai Fiori, and my first guest is @TaylorOffer . Taylor sold over $50 million of clothing before he turned 31, sold the company, took a year off, and came back to build Atrios, which went zero to $1M ARR in about four months out of a16z speedrun. He is one of the most transparent founders I’ve ever sat across from and we went DEEP on the ups and downs of running his companies. If you're raising right now, or soon, this one is worth the watch: • Why he thinks more startups die from lack of energy than lack of money • How and why he previously had to fire his Co-Founder • The exact metrics he's targeting for his Series A, said out loud with real numbers • Why he was advised against taking multi-stage money at seed • Why he started his newest company Atrios without a co-founder • What he learned building a $50M brand from scratch • The value he gets from Andreessen Horowitz • Who he’s desperate to hire • The problem he thinks is most undercovered in tech right now I absolutely loved this conversation with Taylor and hope you do too. This very 1st episode of Undercovered is now LIVE everywhere you get your podcasts.

Water is to humans what revenue is to companies. Companies are running dry on traditional revenue sources like cold calls. New 'water sources' (referrals, conversations) are abundant but inaccessible. Atrios acts as a filter, turning raw potential into qualified customers.

Companies don't churn, they pause. The language we use matters. Instead of 'churned,' frame it as a pause and focus on realignment to understand the root cause and find solutions.

Atrios started from someone showing me what connections were capable of. That side hustle I carried for years turned to a platform with +2,000 Tastemakers and 50 companies

The Future of Sales

Last quarter, Atrios facilitated 1,000+ sales meetings across nearly 100 B2B companies. Because Atrios sources the buyers, makes the introductions, records the sales calls, and collects feedback from both the buyer and the AE after the call.. ...we've ended up with an insane dataset on why people actually buy. Here's the biggest pattern we've found: There are only 2 types of sales leads: Avocados and Honey. 🥑 Avocados: Only ripe for a short period of time. These buyers have an obvious trigger event: They just raised funding and need a business bank. They're hiring their first employees and need HR software. They have a customer that needs them to be SOC2 compliant. Hard to find, easy to convert to a customer. 🍯 Honey: Always there, never expires. Very sticky. These buyers already have a bank. They already use payroll. They already have an ERP, CRM, or insurance broker. The pain isn't urgency, switching seems like a headache. Good teams convert Avocados 🥑 Great teams convert Honey 🍯 If you want to learn tips on how to turn Honey into customers, comment below and I'll send you a playbook on it!

There's no better friends than founder friends. I first met Grant Winns 7 years ago. We were both building Shopify businesses and he taught me so much about scaling beyond $20M in revenue, growing a team, building operations. We've both seen each other through many businesses and life experiences. Whenever we connect, we instantly get straight to the most important things and open up about our biggest challenges and insecurities with our businesses and life. We open up our Stripe, Bank Accounts, Top Customer Reports. We talk through burn rate, fundraising, challenging customers. As a founder you kind of have to be "on" and "selling" to everyone at all times. You can't really tell a future candidate, investor or team member that "This shit is fucked" or "I'm scared we're about to run out of money and the company's going to go out of business" With founder friends, you can share everything and get real help. For all founders out there, find yourself a founder friend you could trust. It'll change your life and business.

Come join the team!!
we're hiring a forward deployed partnership manager at atrios! i've never worked somewhere growing this fast. we're hitting metrics weekly that we set as quarterly goals. it's our breakout moment and the companies on atrios are feeling it too. That's exactly why this role exists. if you've worked in sales you already know: cold outreach doesn't work. warm intros do. atrios makes them happen at scale. Thousands of tastemakers (community builders, operators, vcs, founders) vouching for products they love and getting paid for it. our vendors are startups betting on us as their next major sales channel. your job: make that bet pay off. The role is post-sales at heart. you'll own relationships with c-suites and sales leaders across our portfolio. once a vendor signs, everything after is yours: onboarding, first deals, renewal, expansion. you'll know their metrics as well as they do, activate the dormant partners in their ecosystem, and build communities and events around them. backed by a16z speedrun. team from linkedin, google, amex, brex, stripe, microsoft. nyc. dms open

Have now tested out a couple of 'warm intro' platforms, and have been most impressed by Atrios - great UI/UX, and a good qualifying + follow-up process. Use my link to take relevant meetings and get paid! atrios.com/tastemaker/ck3wxu…
