Hard things can show us what we’re capable of. But we don’t have to do them alone. At the Big Bear @spartanrace, Team RWB Eagle Leader and Navy Veteran Theresa Alcazar was taking on the final race of her Spartan Trifecta: the 10K Super. When her fellow Eagles realized she hadn’t returned, they called. The moment they heard her voice, they knew she needed her team. So they went looking for her. They found Theresa on the course, rallied around her, and walked beside her through the remaining miles. She crossed the finish line and earned her Trifecta—with her team beside her. That’s what Team RWB is all about. We challenge ourselves to do hard things, but when one Eagle needs us, we show up. No Eagle finishes alone. This week, Spartan is showing up for our community, too. During Spartan’s Week of Giving, September 14–20, Team RWB is one of the organizations they’re supporting as they work toward a $100,000 goal for causes serving kids, Veterans, first responders, and communities. We’re grateful to Spartan for believing in the power of challenge, community, and helping more people discover what they’re capable of. 🇺🇸💪 spartan.com/en/pages/givesta…

Geoff Grant has the flag right now. Army Veteran, two deployments, and a corporate impact director at @usaa, our presenting sponsor. That is what this partnership has looked like from the start, reach action and impact. Two hundred fifty miles, every branch represented, one flag that honors every American who answered the call. Thanks to USAA for carrying this with us, from the first mile in New York to the last one here! One flag, carried by many, honoring all.

Before the flag moves, there is this. The quiet and the sun coming up as we say their names out loud. Nobody is thinking about the miles. Everybody is thinking about who they are running for. Day 5. Washington, DC. Track the flag at oneflagforward.org and come run some of the last miles with us. Presented by @usaa

Day 4. 191 miles in. Bodies are sore. Emotions are high. We keep moving. Lisa, Sully and Lee have run every one of those miles. Today's featured runners: Kacie Lawler, Space Force, Active Duty. Fifteen years in, including Honor Guard and casualty notification duty. She runs for the brothers and sisters she has lost, and for the airline crews who died on the morning of September 11. Kacie is also a graduate of American Military University, one of our sponsors. Martin Hernandez, Army, Active Duty. His twenty-three year career ends on October 31, and he is on terminal leave right now. He volunteered to spend it here. He calls today his last mile, and he runs for SGT Denise Williams. Jamie Bergin, Gold Star and Surviving Family Member. She runs for her brother, SPC William Seier. She trained for today with a 4x4x48: four miles, every four hours, for forty-eight hours. "I hope to be a small part of this great adventure and also prove to myself that I can do hard things too." Jamie Beth Bookout. She runs for MAJ Tom Kennedy. Tonight she carries the flag across the bridge into Annapolis. One flag, carried by many, honoring all. One Flag Forward, Presented by @usaa.

Hallett, III, killed August 25, 2009. 250 miles. New York to Washington, DC. 25 years since September 11. One flag, passed hand to hand. This is One Flag Forward, presented by USAA. 25 years later, we remember through action. 🇺🇸 Today, we honor the lives lost, the heroes who answered the call, and all those who served and sacrificed in the years that followed. At Team RWB, remembrance is active. We move. We serve. We carry their stories forward. We will never forget.

In two days, the flag starts moving for One Flag Forward, presented by @USAA. Right now it looks like this. Shoes lined up. Bags labeled by day. On September 12, one American flag begins a 250-mile journey from New York City to Washington, DC. Five days. Fifty miles a day. Twenty-five years after the day this country came together. No one carries it alone. It moves hand to hand: Gold Star and Surviving Families, Veterans, Service Members, and neighbors who never wore a uniform but serve in their own ways. Every hand a tribute to service, sacrifice, and the freedom they protect. And that's the point. This story doesn't belong to one organization, one generation, or one uniform. If you remember exactly where you were that morning, this is your story. If you were too young to remember it and grew up in the world it made, this is your story too. If you are an American, this is your story. Five days. 250 miles. One flag, carried by many, honoring all. Let's go.

“Sept. 11 was the day we were attacked, and Sept. 12 was the day that we came together.” That spirit is at the heart of One Flag Forward, presented by @USAA In a new feature from Military Families Magazine, Lisa Hallett and Michael "Sully" Sullivan share why @wearblue and @TeamRWB are coming together for this 250-mile journey and why, 25 years after September 11, remembering what united us matters. As Sully shared: “In the military, we set aside our colors to rally under one shared banner: the American flag.” From New York City to Washington, D.C., that’s exactly what we’ll do. Thank you to Military Families Magazine and Crystal Kupper for helping tell the story. Read more: bit.ly/4zVUe7B
