IPに関して、自分は今年に入って模索を始めてました🐈️
AIで動画を作って、コンテストに出す——。
これを繰り返していたんですが、ふと「代表作は？」と言われた時に答えられない自分がいたからです。
コンテスト作品はどうしても一過性になりがちで、短期で消費されていってしまう。
そこで今年に入って2〜3ヶ月、IPとなり得る候補をいくつか作り、短編ストーリーを出して反応を見ていました。
その中で生まれた『EISENRITTER』は、2話目でYouTube数万再生と多くの方に見てもらえるようになり、現在は9話目。
長期で連続した話を公開していく中で、国内外問わず色んな方からお声がけを頂くようになりました。
いわゆる業界の「IP（Intellectual Property＝知的財産）」という定義から見れば、まだまだ小さな存在かもしれません。
だからこそ自分は、IP ＝ Individual Passport（インディヴィジュアル・パスポート）。
つまり「個人の作品がデジタル世界や市場を自由に渡り歩くための『権利と存在の証明書』」という意味合いを込めて、これからも制作を続けていきます🐈️
考えさせられる投稿だった。
気になったので私見を述べてみようと思う。
IPって意味としては「知的財産」だから、早い・遅いというより、知財としてどう扱うかの話だと考えてる。
商標を取るだけなら便宜的にIPにはできるけど、形としてIPになることと、IPとして成り立つことは別物だと思ってる。
自分の中では、IPって作った時点で生まれるものじゃない。
オリジナルのものを作る
→認知を広げるために活動を続けて、人の目に留まるようになる
→そこで初めて「IPとして展開するか、このまま続けるか」を選べる
っていう順番で捉えてる。
AIで作るコストは下がっても、この過程に要る中長期の視点と資本と根気は変わらない。
自分が始めたチャンネルは、登録者224万人、再生37億回という数字がついて、子どもたちに認知されて、イベントを開いたりグッズを売ったりできるようになった。そこまで10年。やっとIPって言葉にできるようになった。
その間に同じようなチャンネルがいくつも出てきては消えていって、それでも耐えて残った結果が今の位置。
だから「みんながIPを目指したらレッドオーシャン」っていうのも、自分には少し違って見える。混み合うのは「作る」入り口までで、IPとして成り立つところまで残る人は、今も昔もほとんどいないから。
一方で、今年の5月くらいから踏まれるようになった件は、今は「あっ！踏まれてる人だ」って認識されてる段階。別にIPになりたいわけじゃないけど、もしIPとして成立させるなら、まだ始まったばかりで、中長期とは到底言えない。
結局、次に希少になるのは、抜きん出ることじゃなくて、やり続けた結果、脱落していった人たちの上に立っていた、ってことなんじゃないかと思うかな。
とりあえず、踏まれるか裸になってみてもいいと思う。
