Today begins our journey to serve the people of Singapore. 🇸🇬 One of the most dynamic, forward-thinking cities in the world — and we're bringing the Waymo Driver here, with riders on the road starting in 2028. We couldn't be more excited to build the future of mobility with Singapore.

Today, alongside Chairman Kawanabe and President Wakabayashi of @Nihonkotsu_Taxi, and President Nakajima of  @goinc_go_taxi, we announced @Waymo’s fully autonomous ride-hailing is coming to Tokyo in 2027! We look forward to welcoming riders in Japan. 🇯🇵✨

We’ve autonomously driven more than 300,000 miles in Washington, D.C., safely navigating everything from crowded evenings in Chinatown to emergency scenes in the Third Street Tunnel. We are ready to serve Washingtonians, and to invest tens of millions of dollars in infrastructure and hundreds of local jobs needed to support our service in the nation’s capital.

At Waymo, safety is at the heart of everything we do. The promise of autonomous vehicles is about expanding human potential, and Waymo brings mobility, freedom, and hope to so many. Hearing from riders who have experienced the magic of Waymo and now feel empowered to commute to work on their own, or who feel entirely secure knowing their loved one is traveling at night in a Waymo, is a powerful reminder of why we do what we do.

Trust in any new technology requires transparency. Our latest safety data from over 170M miles—about 200 human lifetimes of driving—shows 13x fewer crashes with serious injuries compared to human drivers.
