How an American Magazine’s Cover Changed in 470 Days
🔻 It took just 470 days for The Economist’s cover to shift from “The End of the Islamic Republic of Iran” to “The End of America’s Presence in the Middle East.”
🔸 During this period, Iran was subjected to the 12-day war and the Ramadan war, while the United States pursued what the U.S. Treasury Secretary described as the heaviest economic pressure in history against Iran.
🔻 Now, however, The Economist, which during the 12-day war featured the Iranian flag behind a missile with the headline “What will happen in the end?”, has published a cover depicting a defeated American soldier, asking: “What happens when America withdraws?”
