Fantastic to see Hanno‘s original JM paper finally in print. Very interesting work on how alimony payments affect incentives to work of ex-spouses and what this means for welfare. Congratulations, Hanno. Very proud of you!
Very excited that my JMP on the welfare implications of child support and alimony got accepted @RevEconStudies! Huge thanks to my advisors, @TertiltMichele and Gerard van den Berg, to the editor @SorryToBeKurt and to everyone who provided feedback at various stages of the paper!

Very sad. Rest in peace, Paul.
We’re deeply saddened to share that our dear colleague and friend, Professor Paul Klein, passed away on August 19. A brilliant macroeconomist and a kind soul with a sharp wit, Paul will be deeply missed. Our thoughts are with all who knew him. bit.ly/46ZiYhe

It’s always seemed odd to me that we literally have a paper *in the AER* showing equal leave policies create gender inequities, yet I have never seen those policies questioned.
Replying to @NataliaHEmanuel
Many academic institutions give equal tenure extensions to birthing and nonbirthing parents. This seems odd, not least because research by @JennaEStearns and co suggests that fathers use leave to do more research rather than bond pubs.aeaweb.org/doi/pdfplus/…
