Neat recap of the Etherlink protocol update. We'd notice substantial compatibility improvements, it may provide a lot of benefits in the future.

The Ganesha upgrade proposal was successfully activated at block 51,484,839.
But the rollout is still continuing, with the infrastructure needed to support Etherlink 7.0 coming online over the next few days.
Hereโs what the upgrade brings:

Any Tezos account can own Etherlink native assets hosted in the EVM interface, and vice versa.
The EVM and Michelson interfaces can interact through native gateways, with both sides committing or failing together.
This means no partial states are committed, with no need for bridge trust or complex state reconciliation.

Etherlink nodes now expose a subset of the Octez node RPCs.
This allows indexers, wallets and dApps built against Tezos L1 to interact with Etherlinkโs Michelson interface as though it were another Tezos network, without being rewritten.
The public endpoint for the Michelson interface and TzKT indexing are among the infrastructure components coming online over the next few days.

Tez deposits targeting smart contracts, as well as deposits targeting EOAs with EIP-7702 delegation enabled, now trigger script execution.
Gas is also properly refunded when a precompile contract reverts.
The infrastructure for the Michelson interface and Native Atomic Composability has already been live on Tezos X Previewnet since May 2026, where developers have been able to experiment with these features.
One change is still not implemented: ๐ถ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ฑ ๐๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ด๐ฒ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐บ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐๐.

Full changelog, security fix sources and root hash reproduction steps are coming soon.
