I mentioned that @carrotfunding uses Equity-based Drawdown, and that there's another category; Static vs Trailing Drawdown. Static Drawdown means the loss limit is fixed relative to the starting balance/equity within the applicable time period (24h for daily DD, and all time for overall DD). While Trailing Drawdown means the loss limit moves relative to the highest balance/equity reached within the applicable time period (24h for daily DD, and all time for overall DD also). 👉 CarrotFunding uses Static Drawdown for the Max Daily Loss. That means the Max Daily Loss amount & loss/breach limit is calculated from your equity at the start of that trading day: • 2-Phase: 5% of starting-day equity • 1-Phase: 4% of starting-day equity The max daily loss amount & daily loss limit stays static throughout the trading day. Simply; Starting Day equity at 12am UTC - Max Daily Loss amount = Breach Limit 👉 Trailing Drawdown is used for the Max Loss. The Maximum Loss amount is based on the account's opening balance, but the loss/breach limit moves upward as your highest balance increases: • 2-Phase: 10% of starting balance • 1-Phase: 8% of starting balance Simply; Highest Balance reached - Max Loss Amount = Breach Limit.
