Update: the frigate Leopold I and her crew have returned home safely.
The ship docked at the naval base in Den Helder the day before yesterday, bringing an intensive period to an end.
Throughout this deployment, the crew dedicated themselves wholeheartedly and did everything possible to carry out their mission.
The necessary repair works will continue to be closely monitored and will commence on Monday. The crew will now begin a well-deserved recovery period.
In the meantime, the Navy remains fully committed to its NATO missions and to our collective security.
