This weekend's trivia question was a tough one because EVERY player listed had at least 1 season of 40+ HR's with less K's than HR's. Ott and DiMaggio "only" did it once, so the answer is: B - Gehrig -1934 and 1936 C - Mize - 1947 (51 HR's!) and 1948 D - Klu -1953, 1954 and 1955 Klu did it 3 seasons!

Well that's a wrap on the #freddiedoubles watch for 2026! Thanks for all who followed and sent me reminders (looking at you @PeteATurner) when I wasn't watching the games. Freddie's last double of 2026 was August 30th, and he finishes the season with 579 career doubles. 2027 is the last year on his Dodgers contract (time flies!) so between his age and the threat of a lockout there's no telling if he plays next year and beyond. He's currently 24th all-time with 579 doubles and has a realistic shot of eclipsing 600 and getting into the top 15 all-time if he plays well next year, if at all. One of the MANY looming subplots of the pending 2027 lockout, but for now let's enjoy playoff baseball!
With Freddie Freeman missing several games recently due to a knee issue and only 16 Dodgers games remaining it's time to "guestimate" where the #freddiedoubles watch might end at the conclusion of the 2026 regular season: FF5 has 579 doubles, 4 more and he can pass Cap Anson, 5 more he can pass Robin Yount with 584 for 22nd all-time. Will he pass Yount in 2026?

Verlander’s last game was more emotional but Scherzer’s (probable) last game was more fun!
If this ends up being Max Scherzer's final game, you KNOW it had to have a moment of him refusing to come out of the game 😤

This is awesome wish more teams had Captains. Yes I know it’s copying the Yankees but who cares it’s a great recognition. Glad to hear he ran it by Yount who gave his blessing…Yount should have been the first Captain.
The @Brewers announce Christian Yelich as the first official captain in franchise history!

Saw @JoshSneed’s stand up comedy show in Vegas last night and he’s really funny! Pretty cool to see he’s a collector as well. Check him out when his show comes to your town! 🎤🤣
“Who is this guy!?” That’s what many collectors will soon be saying when they see my smiling face while opening packs of @Topps 2026 Allen & Ginter next month. So let’s talk about how we got here… At 8 years old I got my first pack of baseball cards. A drug store down the street had packs of 1985 Fleer that sat in a basket near the register. I had already become a massive Cincinnati Reds fan and I’d get so excited to see any Reds players as I skimmed through the cards. My neighbor and I wanted to trade but my mom thought we should each keep our own, so to be sure they wouldn’t get mixed up, she wrote my initials on the back in the upper left corner. (Cue all of the collectors reading this begin to shiver)

I loved this. All out of challenges, old school give the veteran the corner. I approve.
Laz Diaz, in his last game as a plate ump, letting it rip for Justin Verlander, in his last game period, immediately after the clubs used all their ABS challenges is so funny and old school
