Update on Project LEONARD ‼️ Did a crude lil’ thrust test today with the 46mm props. The scale read ~40g. 40 × 4 = 160g total thrust. With the drone final weight likely to be around 60g, that's roughly a 2.7:1 thrust-to-weight ratio. Should be enough… right? 👀
Update on Project LEONARD ‼️ Look at the lil guy. I kinda reprogrammed that modified kitchen scale to measure weight now 🫠.

This video is a good testament to the importance of PID. Without a flight controller actively correcting the motors, LEONARD has absolutely no idea which way is up. So yeah... PID is getting promoted from “thing I need to implement” to “thing I desperately need.” 🫠
Update on Project LEONARD ‼️ I just couldn't wait to finish the flight controller I had to see it hop. And no it's not Motorola 😂. The amount of people that motors Motorola is astonishing. The worse part is that they don't realize it.

The props arrived yesterday 😁. Leonard's starting to take shape. Still working on the avionics

The level of programming, researching and technical skills required for this project is immense. So help me God
Update on Project LEONARD‼️. Model in CAD. Prototype in hand. I used the dimensions from the CAD model to build Mark One, and it came out just the right size. 🔥 Now we move into the avionics.

New sauce? 👀 This is Siwes period and Uniben has finally locked in oooo 😂 We've been assigned to build a robotic arm. Of course I'm the group leader 😁. Here's the model we wanna use.

Have a look at the component placement 👀 Now that I have everything roughly where I want it, I can finally start designing the actual thing the way I want to build it. And before anyone asks… that is NOT an 18650 🙃

Playing Tetris with components 😂 I’ve been experimenting with different placements before committing to the actual design. Modelling the individual components makes this so much easier. I can see what fits, what doesn’t, and what’s about to ruin everything 🫠

I imported the motor driver board into my drone model. It fits perfectly 🤌🏾. Although I do need to adjust the length as it potrudes on both sides.

Update on Project LEONARD. I designed the 4ch unidirectional motor driver using the AO3400 mosfet. I think there could be some improvements to the design. @nzevh_ how did I do 🫠

BioSync lets students take attendance anywhere on campus after registering only once Normally, multiple fingerprint sensors require separate registration. I solved that problem, only for the judges to say: “It's just fingerprint attendance. What did you do?” 😭 Last place btw.

That's why it's a Campus networked biometric attendance system. 🫠

What I mean is if you want to use 3 fingerprint sensors, you need to be independently registered on each of them - 3 sensors 3 registrations. With Biosync you need one. So even if you have a thousand attendance nodes you only have to be registered once to use any of them.

The current and best version of BioSync. Custom 3D-printed case, modular architecture, improved UI, separate registration and attendance roles, and a much much smaller electronic board. Definitely a far cry from the first prototype 🫠. Still it was heavily misunderstood.

The 2nd prototype of my biometric attendance system — BioSync I don't like talking about this one. I somehow decided a display wasn't necessary. Beeping and LED patterns would do. Needless to say, I scrapped that idea. And this was what I planned to present at a competition 🤦🏾
