Very rarely does an athlete come to represent his city as wholly as Lane Johnson has done for Philadelphia. From the very beginning, Lane has personified the essence of excellence, bravery, and spirit. He wore a ton of hats for this franchise, as a mentor, captain, singer, dog-mask-wearer, and always as a fighter. We’ll miss him on the field, but he was so much more than a great ball player. Lane, Philly’s got you. We’ll be praying for you. Enjoy retirement.

Eagles Nation: Let's remember Cam Jurgens as the man who led one of the greatest rushing seasons in NFL history. Let's remember him as a centerpiece in a Super Bowl roster. A man who trotted out there Sunday after Sunday with a broken back to deliver for this team. Thank you, Cam. Best of luck in Baltimore.

All things considered, this is a pretty amazing return for Cam Jurgens.
Trade: Eagles are sending two-time Pro Bowl center Cam Jurgens and a 2027 7th-round pick to the Ravens in exchange for a 2027 5th-round pick and a 2028 2nd-round pick, sources tell ESPN.

Hey, Stephen A. Smith: Lane Johnson's mom has cancer. His dad is also sick. I read your book and you talked about how difficult your life got when your mom got sick and after she passed, you had to go to therapy because you were depressed and you took time off of work. Your mocking Lane Johnson's mental health struggles when you've been open about your own mental health struggles? Come on, man. I know you're busy, but do some research before going on TV @stephenasmith #Eagles

Nobody is going to forget Eagles RT Lane Johnson. But I want to make sure that we never forget Lane Johnson — the person. It isn’t necessarily normal for men to discuss their mental health or discuss those struggles. Especially a 6’6, 325 lbs. mountain of a man. Yet Johnson wasn’t afraid to talk about his mental health struggles or any issues that he had. Now Johnson is opting to hang up his cleats as he continues to put his mental health first. While some may be upset about Johnson’s decision, I feel the exact opposite way about it. Johnson should be commended for stepping away and putting his mental health first. The 36-year-old is a likely first-ballot Hall of Famer that will never be forgotten in Philadelphia. Yet his contributions off the field, especially as an advocate for men’s mental health, deserve just as much praise and recognition. 🫡

It is extremely rare to come across a player like @LaneJohnson65. Extremely rare In the spring of 2013, I found myself on a field in East Texas working out a young Lane Johnson. I believe he was 22 years old All these years later, to say I am proud of the career you built and the man you became would be an understatement. A Hall of Fame career. It’s been a privilege and honor to have coached you. I am so proud of you, Lane

Eagles' Offense All22 vs. Rams thread. Buckle up. 1) After charting every 3rd down, this was the only one I put the blame on Hurts for. He should make this throw. He has a clean pocket and a receiver breaking over the middle of the field. Gotta have it.

Watching the Falcons run all over the Saints in this first half, and I’m genuinely wondering if we’re even playing that same SPORT. I’ll try to provide more qualitative analysis on the Birds, which is what y’all followed me for, but frankly I’m just baffled by the past three weeks.

#Eagles RB Tank Bigsby suffered an injury on Sunday and now requires core muscle surgery to repair it, sources say. Bigsby is headed to Injured Reserve, with hopes he’s back in six weeks or shorter.

I honestly think Sean Mannion should come down from the booth. That lack of QB-OC connection seems to be costing the offense dearly. Another perk would be that if Mannion was on the field, Hurts would've ripped him a new one today.

Right now, the Eagles are 2-2, injury-riddled, with a hapless offense that can't convert on 3rd down. No hot-headed answers: What needs to change going forward?

Everyone involved in the Eagles offense needs to be better. It starts with Hurts, Sirianni, and Mannion. But more than once I saw receivers jogging downfield. Pass protection is nonexistent and run blocking is arguably worse. The defense didn't deserve what the offense gave them today.

I'd say that among many issues, the running playbook needs to open up. Jalen is telegraphing UC runs with heavy footwork. Patient running is killing production because the holes aren't opening up. The only time Mannion got creative with the run game, the Eagles marched down to the doorstep of the end zone. That needs to continue.
