Just watched The Backrooms, which is streaming on HBO Max rn and it's kinda gay, gotta be honest. The basic concept was interesting, particularly how it was employed bc it lined up with Jungian psychology. Liminal spaces, the unconscious, psychological distortion, collective subconscious, the shadow, etc. That being said, there was no real plot. The movie just kind of happens and then ends abruptly. You get the idea that you watched the first 2 episodes of a TV series instead of a movie.

Most of this bullshit is made by an umbrella organization that gets most of their money from the commercial fishing industry. They're the people who made a big deal about plastic straws even tho less than 1% of the plastic in the ocean is plastic straws. They're also the ones that promote dolphin safe tuna even when they profit from reckless tuna fishing practices that kill dolphins. Over 50% of the ocean's plastic is commercial fishing gear. Bouys, nets, ropes and other crap. Why dispose of it properly when you can just drive the boat out a few miles and dump it in the ocean? In order to prevent ppl from realizing this, they create this campaign to blame regular people for the plastic pollution so the fallout doesn't affect the commercial fishing industry, thereby protecting profits.

Science and Technology... When you think about it, we have small drone technology. We have drones that can follow you and orbit around you. We also have automated sensors that can detect mosquitos and zap them will little lasers like from a blue ray player. So, the obvious question is when can we expect the automated mosquito-zapping drones to arrive?

If Ai really wants to rule the world all it has to do is cater to our every demand and we will put on the harness and hand it the leash without a fight.
