🚨BREAKING: A Portsmouth father of two has been jailed for two years after throwing a plastic bottle towards a police line and swearing at police at illegal migrant protest in Portsmouth. • Del Somerville, 42, is the first person jailed over the 6 September demonstration. He admitted violent disorder at Portsmouth Crown Court. About 120 migrants had been brought ashore by the RNLI after a Channel pickup. • Judge Daniel Sawyer (right pic) called him a “thug” and said the sentence was meant to deter others after later protests. Body-worn video showed him throwing a small bottle at a police line on Ferry Road just before 23:30. • Four other men charged with violent disorder from the same protest are awaiting sentence. • For comparison, Judge Sawyer spared Bradley Tolfrey jail in May after he threw three knives at police officers, threw glass at the officers, threatened to slit their throats, spat at an officer, racially abused an officer, pretended to have a gun, covered himself in petrol and threatened to set himself on fire. • Tolfrey, who had 21 previous convictions for 44 offences, and who committed the offences a month after a 26-week suspended sentence expired, was made subject of a 24-month community order. • Judge Sawyer was recently investigated for harassment of a female barrister using an anonymous social media account after she complained about how rape victims are failed by the UK justice system.

Judge Daniel Sawyer harassed me with an anonymous account after I spoke out about the poor treatment of rape victims. The Judicial Conduct Investigations Office (JCIO) refused the complaint. When judges police judges, we have no confidence in the JCIO. archive.is/VvAAv

How can it be lawful to sentence someone just to deter others? The penalty should fit the crime. There was barely a crime, more a misdemeanour.

Since when should one person be used as a deterrent - that is not in sentencing guidelines .. each man is guilty for their own crime alone and should not have to bear the burden of and the fact this government has lost the faith of the British public.

High court bail pending appeal - there is no way this preposterous sentence is not 'manifestly excessive'.

Bottles thrown everywhere, swearing constantly. Not 1 of these parasites even got charged. Englishman, Del Somerville, got 2 years this week. Don't tell me two-tier policing and judiciary doesn't exist.

No British person should even consider signing up to fight for this treacherous Establishment Instead, we should sit back and watch any invasion walk right into London and drag the disgusting lot of them into Prison where they belong

These judges always seem to know what "deter" means until it comes to third world child rapists, strange.

Britain's law & justice is in the bin @ShabanaMahmood . It's more like the USSR every day. It took Russia nearly 70 years to get rid of Communism. We need this government removed urgently

How is it justice for a judge to apply an outrageously excessive sentence in order to 'deter others'? Two Tier policing & two tier justice.

Ah, so the judge confirms there is a two-tier system. How many 'examples' will he make? Do all the 'examples' look like British taxpayers. Vote Restore and put laws in place to investigate and imprison activist judges.

The real criminal who should be rotting in prison is Judge Sawyer. Actual invading terrorist third world criminals = police protection escort. Complaining about actual invading terrorist third world criminals = 2 years in prison. Alas, this is no longer just a Monty Python scetch. To all you protestors ... stop pleading guilty.
