UMass head coach Joe Harasymiak on @ESPNPlus postgame, asked how he handles the team doing something it hasn’t done in 19 years & trying to compete for a MAC title:
“I think we’ve got to take it one week at a time, one game at a time. I know that’s very coach-speak, but it’s true.
“Listen, we’ve never been here before. So, we’ve got to act…we’ve got to take everything one at a time. If we were coming off four championship seasons in a row, then I’d say I had the team to handle that.
“But, we’re going to have to take one step at a time.”

Rank them!
Kidding obviously, but the Minutemen keep making history and even though it’s only September, they’re creeping closer to the program’s first ever bowl bid.

Final: UMass 36, Stonehill 14
A sluggish first half from the Minuteman offense is rewarded with an exciting second, whereas the defense played what could perhaps be their performance of the season thus far.
More to come in a bit, stay tuned!

Touchdown Stonehill!
Methuen's own Drew Eason, now in at quarterback for the Skyhawks, finds tight end Derek Varley from two-yards out to cut lead UMass lead to 36-14.
Really solid drive there from Stonehill with 3:32 left in the game.
@newftbj@kstone06
HUGE shout out to the remaining UMass student section who are still loud as hell
"No Watson, no party" is echoing throughout the stadium as well as "Country Roads"
The Scottish World Cup inspired "no party" chant 100000% needs to catch on and stay
@newftbj@kstone06
TOUCHDOWN UMASS!
Watson throws a 51-yard BOMB to Harding who brings it in at the goaline. Hell of a throw and grab out of the air from the pair who increase the lead to 36-7.
After a sluggish 13 point first half, UMass has scored 23 thus far.
@newftbj@kstone06
Touchdown UMass!
The Minutemen make the Skyhawks pay yet again for a turnover with a goal line QB sneak from Pop Watson.
UMass increases their lead to 29-7 and are fully in the drivers seat with 13:37 left in the game.
@newftbj@kstone06
JC Clark!
The sophomore picks off O'Connell as we head into the fourth quarter.
UMass leads 22-7 with the ball at the Stonehill 24-yard line when we return.
@newftbj@kstone06
That's three for UMass
Morris knocks in another field goal to increase the Minuteman lead to 22-7 late in the third quarter.
That's six points off two forced turnovers today for the UMass defense who've looked tremendous this afternoon.
@newftbj@kstone06
Turnover!
Jaylin Baker's would be first down catch is punched out and recovered by UMass at the Stonehill 31-yard line. Tough break for the Skyhawks again with an inopportune turnover in their own half once again.
UMass with a chance to increase their lead.
@newftbj@kstone06
Stonehill linebacker Ma'Hkai Wilson sacks Watson to force a UMass punt.
The Minuteman offensive line is having their worst game of the season thus far and are really holding up any opportuntity to build momentum.
UMass up 19-7 w/ 6:15 in the third quater.
@newftbj@kstone06
Touchdown UMass!
That's exactly how you respond to start the second half. Curtis Kimmons IV runs it from two-yards out to increase the lead. A failed two-point conversion afterwards has the Minuteman lead at 19-7 with 9:31 left in the third quarter.
@newftbj@kstone06
End of the first half: UMass 13, Stonehill 7
Why so quiet this quarter? Not a lot happening for either team.
Harasymiak has to be unhappy with that performance from the offense. Certainly some adjustments needed to move the ball next half.
