That is a massive base running error by Chicago. Huge momentum shifter

With the White Sox and Guardians playing each other, it means atleast one team with a bottom 5 payroll will be in the ALCS. If the Rays beat the Yankees, both ALCS teams will be in the bottom 5 of payroll

If I’m a Braves fan, I’m heavily questioning the decision to throw Sale in a completely unnecessary situation on Thursday. Teams that lose Game 1 of a best of 5 series lose that series ~72% of the time
Braves will start an opener tomorrow against the Dodgers, per @mlbbowman It's the second consecutive game they'll use an opener

All but three players in the Dodgers starting lineup are over 30 years old. We have to stop acting like 33 is old in baseball years
Trea Turner is 33. Bryce Harper is 33. Kyle Schwarber is 33. Aaron Nola is 33. The Phillies owe these guys almost $550 million.

Trying to think of the most chaotic possible World Series. I feel like it has to be White Sox and Padres

So it took a late season collapse, a game time being moved up unexpectedly and a Nor’Easter pummeling the area for the Phillies crowd to match a Braves playoff crowd? Maybe not the comparison you were looking for
In game 162…a game that mattered by the way

Bryce Harper is 37 plate appearances shy of this cutoff or he’d be second with a .975 OPS
If we look at players with over 300 career postseason plate appearances, Pujols, Ortiz, and Manny are the only players ahead of Schwarber in OPS. He is one of the greatest postseason hitters in MLB history.

Probably the only two hitters I would not kick around the idea of trading
“The Phillies at least need to kick around the idea of trading one of Bryce Harper or Kyle Schwarber.” - @Ken_Rosenthal (nytimes.com/athletic/7651175…)

That being said, they showed fight. To overcome a 9-19 start to even be in the position they were in is impressive but still disappointing given the expectation.
A disappointing end to a wild rollercoaster of a season. The same flaws shown all season reared their ugly head in the playoffs.
