*** Nobody Owns Your Vote *** With 14 registered parties in BC, strategic voting is a choice. So is voting your conscience. Neither makes your vote the property of a party. 'Splitting the vote' only works if someone assumed they owned it.

Yes, and the Board isn't disputing it. 11.03 requires a special leadership election within 12 months of her resignation. The Board says it intends to amend that. An amendment needs 60 days' notice and two-thirds of delegates, and the AGM could come before any race is called.

*** An Announcement is not Dissolution *** Under section 23(1) of the Constitution Act, the Lieutenant Governor dissolves the Assembly on the Premier's advice, by proclamation, so the press conference confirming it is not the act. The act is the proclamation. At that moment members cease to be MLAs and party standings freeze, which means a change in affiliation only counts if it's recorded before dissolution. Interestingly, that dissolution is recorded by date, not to the minute. And there's no published rule for how a member records a mid-term party change either. It's parliamentary practice, handled by the Speaker and Clerk, so only those offices can say whether a notice met the requirement.

Correction for @NikiSharma2 : The membership voted in Findlay. The caucus nominated Doerkson. The board approved him. The membership never voted for Doerkson. And the board says he stays on as leader if he wins, no leadership vote, just a change to the constitution and bylaws. That change doesn't go to the membership at large. It goes to a filtered pool: members who apply, are approved by the party, and pay for a delegate ticket. At the 2025 AGM you had to be approved and pay for a delegate ticket, I believe $300, just to vote. Quorum is 50. Not the same people.

Reann Gasper gave up her own seat to put the party first while others said no and abandoned it. Now there's an election, she's facing the same NDP opponent she already beat, and the nomination still isn't automatically hers. The person who won the riding by 10 points has to compete for it like she never held the seat. She showed the party what loyalty looks like. The least it can do is show her the same. @Conservative_BC give your head a shake

Imagine being told your free speech is capped at 3 posts, & anything past that expires while you wait. Under FIPPA, the right to have the OIPC review a government decision is a statutory right, with no limit set by the Legislature, yet that's exactly what the OIPC has done to it.

*** Who decides who debates in B.C.? *** No law governs B.C. leaders' debates. Elections BC runs the vote but has no role in debates. The legislature decides official party status, which requires at least two MLAs. The B.C. Broadcast Consortium decides who appears in the televised leaders' debate. It is a group of broadcasters that has typically included CBC, CTV (Bell Media), Global (Corus) and Citytv (Rogers). It has never published criteria for who gets invited. In recent elections, it has invited the leaders of parties with official party status, but it has never said that is its rule. Hope this information helps.

We need to address the problems of homelessness, addiction & “safe” supply - a heartbreaking challenge facing our community.  Our Conservative team is ready, willing and able to take the reins and get the province back in business, inspire confidence and give us hope for a brighter future.  It is appalling that David Eby and the NDP saw fit to call an election at this time which is costing tax payers another $90+million. This money could have gone toward improving healthcare, addressing homelessness & addiction, supporting vulnerable seniors, funding people with disabilities, the list goes on and on.  We are at a crossroads in this province! We cannot withstand another 4 years of this NDP government operating without accountability and transparency. I will continue to work for you. I hope I can count on your support. For context, the BC Conservatives last reported about 41,700 members (2026), about 11,000 for the BC NDP (2022) and the BC Greens about 8,600 (2025). The election is October 24, 2026.
