Burgertime - Intellivision (1983) Navigating a chaotic labyrinth of giant buns, beef patties, and lettuce takes serious culinary skill. Players guide Chef Peter Pepper through sprawling vertical platforms while dodging relentless pursuit from Mr. Hot Dog, Mr. Pickle, and Mr. Egg. The objective is brilliant in its simplicity. Walking over ingredients drops them to the floors below, eventually stacking into massive meals at the bottom of the stage. The design perfectly blends arcade maze chasing with strategic puzzle elements. A well-timed dash of black pepper briefly stuns the angry foods, offering a tiny window of survival amidst the escalating difficulty. This classic stood out in an era dominated by space combat by offering a quirky atmosphere backed by an unforgettable soundtrack. The relentless pace and clever enemy behavior demanded quick reflexes and sharp tactical planning to survive. Burgertime laid essential groundwork for the action puzzle genre, proving that strategy and high score chasing could thrive alongside wildly creative, lighthearted themes. 馃崝 #Burgertime #Intellivision #RetroGaming

The Intv cart is widely considered the best home port, (and I agree) but I would urge you to also try the VCS version, not for the graphics but for the gameplay; the enemies & maze layout are surprisingly engaging.
