To be accurate, my recommendation is a government (preferably a mixed government), of "very limited ends and unlimited means." Dictatorship is another discussion entirely, and is always a transition stage called forth by events.

I guess I really must be a lib, because if there's one thing that makes me violently angry, that surprises me with how emotionally strong my reaction is, it's intellectual barbarism. Carl Schmitt was one of the most important and interesting thinkers of the 20th century. He just was. By all means, disagree with him, critique him, attack his ideas. But "Derp, Schmitt Nazi therefore bad" is just rank intellectual barbarism. That road ends with all of us living in caves.

Buy a ticket. Make a trip across the country. Ask me for a discount code because of our mutuals. It's that important. No one has ever seen Theodore Judson. Ever. Purity spiraling is one of the biggest threats we face. We have a goal—saving America—and success requires assembling a coalition capable of winning. This will include an array of people of differing beliefs, differing backgrounds, and even differing visions. "Purity" is for those who want to feel good about themselves in defeat; not those who want to win. There will be plenty of ongoing and future debates about vision, but these cannot get in the way of practical alliance and immediate priorities. There is no perfect coalition, and no perfect outcome. The United States is a large country (really empire) with a complicated history and complicated global position. We are fallen human beings, and even narrow subsets of the population (based on proposition or heritage) will have sharp disagreements and significant failings. We must thus come together with those willing to join the fight at hand and: —Work to bring new people into the coalition (even as we inevitably also lose some along the way as new conflicts arise) —Build the skills and resources that allow us to exert influence within this coalition and over the direction of the movement —Debate and refine both short-term goals and long-term aspirations —Keep pressing forward And above all, we must rely on God to providentially bless our effort, and help us achieve outcomes we cannot achieve on our own.

Of coming of age, of the unfortunate and unnecessary Afghan War, of relationships between the sexes, and of the oppression of young men.
