Why use Colourful Semantics in Voca Quest? There are a range of potential expressive and receptive language goals you may think about:
* sentence structure
* Vocabulary
* Understanding word classes
* Narrative skills

Our sorting task for Colourful Semantics is a fun way to work on understanding word classes, semantics and sentence structure. It is currently available in the Voca Quest platform.
Drager et al (2018) found that the number of turn-taking opportunities increased for emerging communicators who were provided with AAC technology that included Visual Scene Displays.
Our Voca Quest platform includes 6 different Colourful Semantics activities. Alison Bryan originally created Colourful Semantics for children working on grammatical skills, with a grounding in the meaning (or semantics) of words. The approach has colour-coded word classes.
Visual Scene Displays depict scenes of natural life events with people (and/or animals) while minimizing language demands (Holyfield, et al., 2017). Scene & Heard Pro lets you capture these natural life events on the go and edit them to be visual scenes quickly and easily.

Drawing can be used to augment all types of communication. In Predictable 7 we added a drawing pad, so you can sketch out messages or draw diagrams to support your communication
Some people who use AAC, visual scene displays (VSDs) it may serve as their primary method of expressive communication; for others, VSDs may be supplemental. Hajjar et al (2022) recommend AAC teams consider frequency & type of VSD use + align w multimodal communication approach
Putting the beta iOS18 through its paces here this week, and Swapnil is road-testing Vocal Shortcuts. First impressions are positive, and I can see some significant use cases for the feature for some people who use Predictable and can use vocalisations.
