Amanda Platt just gave the most powerful speech I think I have ever heard, to an international audience in Washington D.C.
She told her story - how she was attacked and severely beaten on a farm in South Africa, how they chanted 'Kill the Boer' while beating her, how she was saved and lives to tell her story, and how the 3'000 crosses that will soon be displayed on the National Mall will carry the names of people who have lost the voice to tell their stories.
The conference venue was in tears.
Chanting about the extermination of people has consequences. Denying that this is happening, or claiming that such chants do not have consequences is reckless and dangerous.
We cannot let them win. We need to find a solution for those who choose to remain in South Africa.

Tomorrow, the White Cross Memorial comes to the National Mall in DC.
Now comes the most important part: turn attention into action.
The goal for Volkstaters should be to make Afrikaner self-government a legitimate subject of American diplomacy.
That means seeing up a special envoy for:
• Congressional hearings
• A formal diplomatic dialogue with Pretoria
• A detailed, peaceful and constitutional Volkstaat proposal
• A viable economic and governance plan
• Explicit protection for everyone living within the proposed territory.
The Washington moment should not end with the crosses coming down.
It should begin a sustained international process toward peaceful, negotiated Afrikaner self-government.
Turn remembrance into a roadmap, guys!
