#MotoGP had the exact same problem at Phillip Island in 2013, when Bridgestone was the spec tyre supplier: new asphalt, which hadn't been evaluated by MotoGP machines. And at that time bikes made maybe 20% less power, plus they had no downforce aero and no ride-height devices, which dramatically increase load on the tyres. PI 2013 was reduced from 27 laps to 19, with a mandatory pit stop, because even Bridgestone's hardest rear slick wouldn't last more than 10 laps
