Everyone seems disappointed after the Head of Product at
@inkonchain teased a “big announcement” around
$INK and then revealed the new Kraken Wallet.
A lot of people were expecting something more directly tied to TGE.
But honestly, this is still related to it and here’s why:
If you’ve been early on Ink, you’ve probably noticed that the ecosystem has been getting built piece by piece.
First came
@tydrohq for lending and borrowing.
Then
@nadoHQ for perps and spot.
And now we have the Kraken Wallet.
If you’ve been active here from early on, you’ll also remember that the team had already been working on a wallet product before, previously known as
@Beholder, which now appears to have evolved into the Kraken Wallet.
What’s interesting to me is that this feels like the final major product piece of the ecosystem stack Ink has been building.
And because of that, I see this wallet launch as something that could be one of the last major steps before TGE.
Now, to be clear I’m not saying this confirms the September rumor for
$INK.
But I do think it adds more context, and it makes the bigger picture a lot more interesting.
What I’m still waiting to see from
@krakenfx and
@inkonchain is a much stronger marketing push for the Ink ecosystem itself before TGE not just marketing around
$INK.
The goal should be to bring more attention, users, liquidity, and builders into the ecosystem before the token goes live, so that TGE becomes the next step in an already growing ecosystem rather than the moment everything starts.
