There's a lot of parallels between hitting enter on each CLI Codex/Claude response and mindless doom scrolling to the next tweet. LLMs are amazing tools, but at an individual level you can only get the most out of them when you actively engage with their output.

One of the biggest mismatches in contracted token market making is between the client's desire to hit certain order depth requirements at arbitrary spread levels — primarily driven by the equally arbitrary ±2% bands shown on CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko — and the natural breakeven spread at which a prop market maker would place orders. There is always a hidden cost to providing depth tighter than breakeven.

Prediction markets took double what US bookmakers did on the World Cup. Then "soccer" gave them a problem the NFL never does: a game that ends without a winner. So who actually won the World Cup? This week on The Local @AdMcMarkets on his world cup report. New episode live now

I've been a fan of @lo_tech, not just from a market maker perspective, but also their podcast in a pub format It really doesn't get much more British than that And so when I got the call up to feature and converse, all things AI + blockchain, I couldn't say no Amazing podcast with the very sharp and experienced @TimMeggs. Very much enjoyed this one.

Can AI build a trading system right now? Can it build a market making system on top of it? @TimMeggs believes the answer to both is yes. But the nuance of operating successfully is around infrastructure, networking, risk management, something we know very well...

For someone who's always had multiple side-projects I want to work on, the improvements in AI agent capabilities over the last 9 months has been a huge step forward. Feels like a golden age. It also brings a bunch of underlying anxiety though too. Anytime I don't have an agent working on something, it feels like a waste.

Last week crypto traders bought 15 times more Micron than Nvidia. On Binance equity perps that's $ 3.4bn against $ 230m, with memory and semis taking around 63% of the volume. Easy to file under AI selling off. It wasn't. Nvidia was barely touched. What got sold was commodity memory, NAND and DRAM, on a legal case and fresh questions about how much of it AI really needs. Kalshi cleared $ 24bn in June, roughly 70% of it sports on the back of the World Cup. Volume's the headline, but in-play it's repricing speed that matters. A goal goes in, the tight books move inside a second while the slow ones sit there for four or five. Four seconds doesn't sound like much until you're the one pricing the market.
