Using our population of about 243 million people implies one NNPC Retail petrol station to about 243,000 Nigerians assuming that the stations are evenly distributed across Nigeria which is not the case. Imagine 243,000 Nigerians struggling for a N66.00/per litre discount in each of the NNPC petrol stations. This is certainly not how to govern a richly blessed and endowed nation! While I prepare to provide a more detailed explanation on my current stand on subsidy and a policy roadmap on fair, transparent and affordable pricing of petroleum products, let me state that research on our current revenue and revenue potential in a productive Nigeria under an incorrupt, transparent and competent government which my leadership will enthrone affirms my position that subsidy should be restored to Nigerians not only on petrol but also in agriculture, health, education and infrastructure. A lot of people are waiting for me to say I support APC. So here it goes. As a human being, what Tinubu has achieved in his personal life coming from where he came from is the stuff of legends. An orphan boy who worked his way from relative obscurity and did everything that was necessary to ensure his own survival and freedom long enough to amass enough wealth and power to rule the most populous black country on earth. It takes grit, balls and intelligence. How I believe he's gone about doing this is exactly what disqualifies him as a role model. His role should have always been in the background. The conscience of a nation should not be weighed down by the alleged criminal past of its president. Somewhere in his journey, he lost the very thing that qualifies a leader from a ruler. His ability to care about the plight of anything that does not advance his personal goals and ambition. It's the kind of machiavellian nature that's useful in the criminal underworld as the boss of a crime family. That skill doesn't translate well when you're leading 100s of millions of people who can offer you nothing personally. A president needs to be someone who can bare the burdens of a suffering masses without breaking down or becoming too stoic that he cannot feel for his own people. I don't think you go from orphan to president by being soft at your core. Unfortunately we don't have any leadership schools that teaches people how to transform from the hard core person that grabs power to a soft core person with the ability to feel for other humans. Because you do need the ability to be empathetic to be a leader and in the world that raised Tinubu, empathy is a weakness. As for Lagos elections, I don't really have a dog in that fight. I think APC will win because they're too entrenched and the opposition is split. So if this reads as me being pro APC. Have at it.

He also directed that flags should be flown at half-mast throughout the country as a mark of respect to the officers. President Tinubu had earlier expressed profound sadness over the crash of the Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 jet. The accident occurred near a naval base in the Igbokoda area of Ondo State. The aircraft, carrying 25 passengers and seven crew members, was on a routine mission from Benin to Lagos when it crashed. “This is a painful moment for our Armed Forces and for the entire nation. Our Air Force personnel put their lives on the line every day to secure Nigeria.
