Look, I deeply love RE games - just play the games, y'all. A direct adaptation would be shit. It just wouldn't translate well, or be just pure fan service guff. It'd be shite.

This is a misunderstanding of how aggregate scoring works. I see it happen for a lot of games and films.
It hasn't been given a 9.7/10, it's that 97% of critics rated it positively - whether they rated it as 7/10 or 10/10, aggregate scoring systems view this as the same thing.

This is how to tackle video game adaptations, imo - to emulate the feel, vibe, or themes. If you're looking for a true RE adaptation, this isn't it, but just play the games? This captures the *feel* so well I wanted to go play an RE game.

I have signed multiple physical games before thanks to people asking for a physical version in the social replies.
I can tell you straight up that telling studios you want a physical release really can have an impact!
Being excited about a game and letting the publisher know you want a physical release WORKS (be kind about it)

Sony said you don't own your games… but we have all the receipts.
After Sony recently argued in court that “reasonable consumers” understand they don't actually own their digital games, fans have started compiling every example they can find where PlayStation used language suggesting otherwise.
The Consumer Rights Wiki has now documented dozens of examples of Sony using phrases like “games you own” and “you already own” across PlayStation's own websites and services.
That evidence is being collected as part of the wider backlash surrounding Sony's digital ownership policies and the ongoing lawsuit over how PlayStation presents digital game purchases.
Sony's legal argument hasn't been decided by a court yet, but gamers clearly aren't letting the company's older wording disappear.
