In case you’re new here, get in. I’m a Tour Operator & an Academic Freelancer. I curate tours that give you great memories without breaking the bank, and I help students/researchers turn their work into publishable theses and academic papers In my free time, I explore the fascinating intersection of: Tourism • Festivals • Politics • Social Media I’m particularly interested in how festivals, tourism and social media shape the way we experience places, culture and politics. And if you care to know, I'm a BELIEVER and hail from the only town in Ekiti State that was not conquered- Ikere-Ekiti. If that sounds like your kind of conversation, welcome. You’re in the right place.

I have someone like that in my class. He answers questions and argue with lecturers but once the results are out,it is something else😭
There is always that one student in your class who answers questions and talks with intimidation during every lecture. But once the results are released, the person wouldn’t even make the top 10 in the class. Almost everyone has someone like that in their class during undergraduate. 😂

Congratulations, scholar. It keeps getting better from here.
And just like that, I defended! What began as “I’ll start my Master’s while I find my feet” became a journey of growth, resilience, learning and becoming. M.A. English Language: DONE AND DUSTED! To God be all the glory. ❤️

I’ve been wondering: what happens to a person’s ambition? How does someone who was once vibrant, focused and full of dreams slowly become someone who simply settles for less? How does someone who once wanted so much from life end up standing at a newspaper stand in front of the University of Ibadan gate every morning just to argue about politics and sports, watching the world happen while their own dreams quietly fade? What makes people let go—not just of their careers, but of their passions, friendships, curiosity, appearance, health, relationships, creativity and the version of themselves they once imagined becoming? How does a driven person enter a marriage and, years later, realise they have become a shadow of themselves and let go of who they have always wanted to become? How does someone you knew deserved better in a partner settle for less? What makes someone like Ogbeni Dipo, who we all know to be a non supporter of the APC government and Tinubu, suddenly become a huge supporter? At what point do we stop fighting for the life we imagined? Do we lose our dreams, or do we gradually trade them for comfort, responsibility, love, disappointment, fear or simply the need to survive? And perhaps the most unsettling question: when did we start letting go? ?

This is what we should be seeing on this page. Kudos to the person who brought up this idea.
This is more than a place. This is home. This is Ekiti. From the richness of our land to the strength of our people, every road, every community, every enterprise and every growing opportunity tells a story of a state moving forward. We are building an Ekiti where hard work finds opportunity, where our resources create prosperity, and where every generation can look ahead with hope and pride. The journey continues. The possibilities are endless. This is Ekiti. our pride, our home, our future.

Instead of you people to call out the government of Ondo State, you're taking about professionalism. See the setting of a school in the capital. Now imagine what remote schools in that state would look like.
I was invited by the management of the Celestial church Grammar school Akure to administer the oath of office to their new elected prefects. This is a school within the city of Akure but lacks basic academic infrastructure...

One of the reasons why I'm sceptical about free trial that request for my card details. I have trust issue 😭
There’s this academic writing tool I’ve used for free for over five years to paraphrase things. Last week, I tried using it as usual, only to get a notification that I had to subscribe to Premium or wait until 1 a.m. to use it for free. Yesterday, I really needed to use it, and there was no way I was sacrificing my sleep. So, I decided to subscribe. I saw the charges with 1 month / 1 year written beside them. My intention was to pay for just the one-month plan, which was $4.17. So, I entered my bank card details and proceeded with the payment. “Payment successful” popped up immediately on my screen. The next thing, I received an email notification with my invoice. I had just settled down to check it when I received an SMS debit alert from my bank. That was when I received the shock of my life. 💔 I had been debited $49.95! Guys, my eyes just went blurry. Apparently, I had not subscribed to the one-month plan. I had just paid for ONE WHOLE YEAR. I just sat there staring at my phone, trying to process what had happened. And the most painful part? I was the one who willingly entered my card details. Nobody held me at gunpoint. Nobody hypnotised me. I simply saw $4.17 and my brain said, “Click it, Oyindamola. You understand what you’re doing.” I clearly did NOT. 😭 Guys, I was tricked! They just taught me a very expensive lesson.
