He's right. In the 2024 NBA Finals, Jayson Tatum topped Jaylen Brown in box plus/minus, average game score, points, rebounds, assists and minutes.
Brown's defense was awesome, but him winning Finals MVP was an example of the narrative overwhelming the evidence.

I often think about how CFB executives despised College Football so much, they slashed out a quarter of gameplay via running clock and backfilled the time with more commercials - so that we never get epic 61-58 shootouts like this again
